    Default Which Mod?

Which Mod is the best for a family with these preferences?

    *good transportation to parks
*not too long of walk to pool and restaurants
    *fun pool for kids

    Any input appreciated!

I'm biased, but we love POFQ.

It is a small resort, so not a long walk to anything, the busses and food court and pool are all very close to everything. The resort just had an upgrade, so there are queen beds in every room, and it is all new and fresh.

As a plus, you can use everything at POR, so it is like getting two resorts in one. DD loves the pools at both POFQ and POR, so we spend time at both.

The foodcourt and store at POR are larger, so if you need a change, there is one right next store. However, since POR is much larger, we like to visit, and stay at the smaller FQ.

POFQ is the only mod resort you would definitely be able to have an easy walk to, not only the pool, but everything else as well. You can book a perferred room at the other mods, but even then, some of those rooms can be a longer walk than most of the rooms at POFQ. Our one and only complaint was that my kids didn't think the pool slide was long or fast enough. However, when staying at FQ you can also use the pool at Riverside. That pool slide my kids were completely happy with. POFQ was the last of the mods we tried, been to them all, and being from Louisiana I really didn't have any desire to stay there when on vacation in Florida. After our stay last Oct. I can say that FQ is by far our favorite mod.

Yep - sounds like you're desribing Port Orleans French Quarter. This compact, cozy resort is very popular so book early!

I agree. After having just spent one week at CBR, I would never stay there again. The resort was very nice, dont get me wrong, but just far too big. We were always the last stop on the bus from the parks and the walk to the food court was a long one for coffee & drinks. Having stayed at POFQ before that would be my first choice for a Mod

What section did you stay at in CBR??? I stayed there and loved it... I was far from the food court, but that didn't bother me.. Only a 5 minute walk... The resort is beautiful!!!! But I can see where the bus transportation can be an issue...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Transportation is smilar for all moderate resorts.

The most intimate is POFQ since there are only 1008 rooms.

Best themed pools are CS and CB

The food court at CS is more upscale as CS is a convention resort so don't be surprised if your hanging out by the pool and people have business attire on.

POR, POFQ and CB are pretty much in the same general area being closest to EC and HS. CS is in the Animal Kingdom resort area down by AKL so it's furthest from MK.

One major difference is CS has queen bedding where the other three do not. So if your not into cuddling with your spouse as you use to (LOL) the bedding may be the decision maker

POFQ has been updated with Queen Size beds! Not sure if the upgrade is 100% complete but others on this board will know this.

I'd have to be another one to trump POFQ. I always felt close to everything and never felt I was waiting very long for a bus. Plus I'm partial to resorts that I can catch a boat to/from (don't care where it goes but I want to ride a boat!.). Great food and fun theming can't beat it.

I have never stayed in any of the mods except POFQ. I absolutely love this resort!!! I was in the furthest building from the food court and it was still only a few minutes walk. Bus service was great, the boat to downtown disney was convenient, the food court was good. I highly recommend it!!!

Oh and to jonsmom; Go Sox!!!

We stayed at POR when we went mod. It's our preference, however it's our only choice because of family size. While we were there POR and POFQ shared buses. I don't know if this is common, but it's my experience.
