Everyone please know that I was not referring to any particular poster in my comments, but to the the attitude that seems to be growing in our society that profits are bad and equal greed. I meant no offense to any individual intercotee.
I agree that the big Wall St. firms have brought a lot of this negative attitude upon themselves and they have themselves to blame. But some seem to lump all businesses together as evil if they seek to earn profits. When we start allowing government to tell private enterprise how much profit they can earn, we start down a slippery slope that leads to, well you know what. I guess you can tell that I'm a "free-market" guy. Let me decide where to spend my money and how much and the market will rein in those who seek to abuse consumers. Congress can only make things worse.

I can be just a cynical as the next guy, but before we start talking about how Disney is just going to use this as an excuse to cut back, let's look at what they've done lately. The Fantasyland refurb, I think most of us will admit that after first blush we were a little underwhelmed, the little mermaid ride, and some princess and fairy meet and greets, but now we've droped the fairies and are getting another of what, in theory, Disney does best, a dark ride. A new resort, not a DVC property, but an actual resort. So Disney has shown a willingness to invest even before these numbers came out. If there are no announcements of new things starting in 2011 then I will be dissapointed, but let's give them a chance, and hope that this theme of fairly major investments (Fantasyland refurb/AOA resort) continues on the positive profit results.

People, there is a simple way to fight back against this corporate greed you speak of, spend your money with other companies whose agendas more closely align with those you would prefer.

Hmmm... I just went back and reread every post and, unless some were deleted, I don't see anyone mentioning Government, Congress, or regulation. Where did that come from?

It's the 30 year old straw-man erected so that it can be knocked down over and over and over and over.
