Default Air Force Thunderbirds fly-by down Main St. today

To kick off Air Force week the Thunderbirds demonstration team did a fly-by over the Castle toward the south, down Main St. during the day parade for the film crews.

They were a bit west of center but still could be seen very well. VERY COOL

I was working inside the house and wondered what that was! Wish I'd known it was coming, I could have gone outside and caught a glimpse.

We also got to see them over Disney's Animal KIngdom as they finished their flyover of MK. This was at about 3:20 in the afternoon.

I just got off work awhile ago and wanted to add, about 30 or so Air Force members also participated in Flag Retreat at MK.

Felt very privileged to be a part of their day as Flag Retreat is a very special part of my shift when I get it. The music, the general atmosphere, the "solemness" of the event and being a part of saluting the veteran of the day are just really special to me. Always try to give my extra best during that time no matter how hot or tired I am.

I found a video of the flyby on (GASP) another Disney site. Very cool. They were in their typical diamond formation, and zipped "right down the middle of Main Street USA". People were cheering & screaming like mad. Wish I could've been there.

Thanks Melanie for the amazing photo.

Flyovers at home are always so impressive, especially when they happen over Independence Hall. But, seeing one over the Castle is really unique. I'm sorry i missed it, but I had to cancel plans for a fall WDW trip this year.

are any of these flyovers scheduled or a last minute decision. I would love to be there during a future trip that this happens.

    1) It was scheduled as part of the Air Force Salute.
    2) Both day and time were publically announced last week.

That picture is the only time I've ever seen the entire audience turn to look away from the parade. What an amazing photo! Thanks for sharing.
