    Default Moderates and Trundle?

POR seems to be a big hit with the AB section and their trundle beds. Does anyone think that WDW will ever put trundles in the other mods? I know there is another "value suites" resort in the building process but I was wondering if the trundle bed works well enough for WDW to place them in other moderate resorts?

I think they will focus on family suites more than adding trundle beds to other moderate locations.

And frankly, unless the 5th person is under the age of 7 and 50 pounds, those trundle beds are horrific. My 12 year old DD was at least 6 inches taller than the trundle bed last year, and we had to basically force them to bring a roll away into the AB section for us. It was a miserable experience. I'd opt for more family suites than trundles.

    "So it is."
    "And freezing."
    "Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."

I don't think it's an issue of do they want to, it's a matter of "if" they can.

My understanding is that the "5th person" is all subject to fire codes. I get the impression that POR-AB is the only moderate building sufficient to meet fire code to allow the 5th person in the room. So I don't think it is quite as simple as swapping out existing beds for trundles. I think they'd have to redesign and remodel entire units to bring them up to code. So I don't see it happening. And speaking as someone who is now a family of five,

I would think they'd do that !!! There's more money in it for them to have you get two rooms or a suite.....Our kids love the trundle bed !!! They are getting up in age, but find them completely acceptable...of course they have all been to 4H camps, church camps and know that sometimes they will have to sleep in "less than desirable" beds !!

They can't just arbitrarily increase the occupancy of a building by adding more beds to the rooms, or even remodeling the rooms.

Fire codes aren't about how many people you have IN the room, they're about how many people you can safely, quickly, get OUT of the building.

If you add trundle beds to 50 rooms in a building, you potentially have 50 more people trying to fit in the hallway and stairwells in the event of a fire. That can make a real difference in evacuation time. That's why increasing the occupancy of a building could mean widening stairwells, or other construction to the building itself.
