    Default Suggestions for off-grounds stay

My DH wants me to explore the possibility of staying off grounds....why? I don't know. He thinks it will save him money...and believe me "The Mouse" gets a lot of our money! Any suggestions on where to stay off grounds?

We stay at a beautiful house in Windsor Hills. It is an all star vacation home and we rent it directly through the owner for WAY less than a Disney hotel. We love staying on property -- but right now the budget won't allow it and this is definitely a close second!

We recently stayed off-site in a condo at Lake Eve Resort and would not hesitate to stay there again. The property is almost brand new and is beautiful. They offer 1,2 and 3 bedroom units. We searched around on the internet and got a very reasonable rate. For less than the nightly rack rate at a Disney Value Resort we got to stay in a 2br/2 bath condo with full kitchen, living room, dining area, washer/dryer and balcony.

    Default staying off grounds

We have stayed both on and off property.
You can definitely save $$ by staying off property.
THe hotels are starving right now and there are fantastic deals.
The Marriott Village has a Fairfield Inn and Springhill Suites that are right down the road from Disney and you get a hot breakfast. They are clean and nice.
We have also stayed in a 2 bedroom Marriott Villa--Royal Palms....it was awesome w/ a full kitchen.

We stayed at Marriott Royal Palms last May. It was fantastic. If we weren't able to get free dining, we'd be staying there again. Sign up to become a Marriott Rewards member. (It's free.) Then, when you go to their site, click on "special deals". We got a ratea for reward members, it was quite a bargain.

We spent one night in the Fairfield Inn at the Marriott Village - would not hesitate to stay there again. As a previous poster stated - they do a complimentary breakfast that was really better than most.

We also recently spent one night at the Holiday Inn Express just beyond Downtown Disney. Clean, quiet and nice employees.

You can definitely do it much cheaper off site, especially for larger groups. We have a friend that is a travel agent. They get deals on home and condo rentals all the time. We could get a 4 bedroom house with pool and all amenities for less than 1-night at a Value. It was just over $600 for a week. This house could accommodate 3-4 families. If you had enough people to go, it would almost cost nothing to stay there.

Thank you all for the info. I am going to check out the hotels you suggested.

We were going to stay at The Orange Lakes Resort this December, until there was an opening at OKW. We have friends that stay at Orange Lakes and love it. Also, would you consider staying at the Swan or Dolphin? It's a great location, and I read somewhere on here that the prices may be closer to a moderate than a deluxe. May be worth looking at.
