Disney Anniversary - Part 10

Plan for the Day Tuesday, August 3: Magic Kingdom; Grand Floridian Café for lunch; Quicksilver pickup at 3:45 p.m.; Flight for home leaves Orlando at 6:15 p.m.

It’s almost 6:35 p.m. and we’re in the air. We just got permission to use electronic devices again.

When our bus arrived at the Contemporary, there were several busses lined up at the stop and an additional bus behind us. We’re on our way back to the Magic Kingdom so we do not exit here. The next stop is the Magic Kingdom. We exit and re-enter the park. Yay! My new annual pass works.

We visit Mickey’s Philharmagic and then the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, which actually has quite a long line. Although we don’t need to leave yet, I’ve had it. It’s crowded and it’s extremely hot. On the way out, we walk through shops whenever possible. We had taken a few things to the park with us which we had stored in a locker. We now retrieve our items and take the very hot walk back to the Contemporary.

I’m close to overheating by time we arrive back at the Contemporary. I’m hot and sweaty and my heart is pounding. I gratefully sink into a couch in the cool lobby. Gene gets me an iced tea which is quite welcome. Soon, I’m cooler and feeling much better.

Our driver should be arriving soon. We go to the bell desk to ask that our luggage be retrieved. Our driver is already there. The person who went to get our luggage returns and asks if one of us will go with him to identify our luggage. Gene goes and I stay. He’s gone quite a long while. In the interim, the driver puts me in the air conditioned back seat of his car. Gene finally appears. Thankfully, he has our luggage in tow. He said they wandered around the whole storage area without seeing our luggage. They finally ran into the gentleman who had taken the luggage from our room earlier in the morning. He said he thought it was in a certain section of the storeroom – an area they had not looked in and there it all was.

They are repaving a section of road and traffic is one-way so it takes a little bit to finally get going. Once we start moving along, Gene and our driver have a lively conversation about automobiles. We’re soon being deposited at the Jet Blue terminal area. It’s not as crowded today as the last time we were here a couple of months back. We get through security pretty quickly and move on to our gate.

We board right on time. Our flight is full. It seems we take off pretty much on time. We’re scheduled to land in Boston around 9:15 – a little more than two hours from now.
