Default Tangled (opens Nov 24, 2010)

WOW. I saw the preview for Tangled during Toy Story 3D -- I was absolutely blown away with the 3D animation and I can't wait to see how Disney puts a spin on the Rapunzel story to show the boy's point of view!

So the entire movie is from his point of view, not just the trailer they are showing? Haven't read much about this one at all.

Yea -- the cute boy is the star ... which is a great way to include boys in a more "girlie" story. I think it's a great idea!

I'd see it based on the trailer. It looks pretty good.

My kids (19 and 17) thought it looked awful. I thought it looked great! I can't wait to see it. With or without them.

Definately looks cute! I can't wait to see it. I do wish it was made in classic 2D, but it still looks good!

All movies are still offered in 2D -- you will still be able to see it in a regular theater.

My four year old son saw the trailer for this movie during Toy Story 3 but he really caught onto it when he saw the new Tinkerbell movie on Blu-ray.

He thought that trailer was the best thing he has seen in years. He couldn't wait to show me and we had to watched it about six times before I decided that was enough.

He thought the whole thing was funny.

I have seen complaints that the title change and movie focus are marketing strategies and show desperation.

I am looking at it from this point of view. If every movie is always marketed and positioned as a "Princess" movie, one will have a problem. Walt Disney never promoted his films as a "Princess" movie. It wasn't until recently that Disney started doing that.

To promote this movie as they are and making the POV skew towards the "prince", I think, is a great idea and, I doubt John Lasseter would allow the movie to move forward if the idea and the story weren't strong.

What I really loved, regarding my son, is when I asked him if he wanted us to take him to see the movie, he replied, "No daddy, I want to go to Disney to MEET them."

    OMG that is the CUTEST!!!

My son watched the trailer today in the Disney Store. It was the part when the prince is trying to make that face for her.....After that part my son turned around and did that face to me!!! He is only 22 months old. We both bursted out laughing!!!

Went to see it today, and it is AWESOME!! If this is the type of movies they can make again, they should rethink not making any more Princess movies. The music was wonderful, reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast. Don't miss it! (I will definitely be buying it when it is released.)

I just want to add my two bits on Tangled. I was totally shocked at how GOOD it was to be honest. The advertising didn't do it justice IMHO. I saw tons of trailers for it over the summer and was left less than enthused about seeing it. It seemed like a dumbed down, modernized, CGI princess movie going after the Shrek audience.....I didn't get the sense that it would have the Disney "heart" that the other beloved classic Fairytales had.

    I was soooooo wrong, happily.

It's funny, their marketing strategy worked perfectly. It was my NEPHEWS who insisted we see this movie, not my daughter....I had to talk my daughter into it somewhat as she wanted to see Megamind instead....strange reversal of movie preferences there. My ONLY gripe is I wish they would've just kept the title Rapunzel instead of Tangled, but I guess they had their reasons.

Anywho....I went, knowing as a Disney geek it was my obligation to see it, and...... I was totally ENCHANTED by it to my surprise. I had no idea it was a musical in that grand Broadway number tradition Disney is known for now. I had no idea it would make me so emotional either, I mean the CGI characters conveyed a ton of real human feeling in their facial expressions. One beautiful, magical sequence in particular had my face leaking profusely. But I'm a cheeseball like that. heh

I didn't expect to be impressed with the animation much either....but shut mah mouth, it was gorgeous! A real balance was struck between the techniques of computer technology and the sensibilities and painterly qualities of hand drawn animation. I can say in all seriousness, this is an instant classic. I am definitely going to see it again and would love to own it on Blu Ray. Next time I think I'll check it out in 3D.....2D was delightful enough, I am sure it is terrific in any dimension.
    Coming Soon.....

We saw it the day after Thanksgiving with another family and we all loved it so much! It was so well done. And I agree, the trailers were such a small taste of what the movie is actually like. Have to admit to getting teary over a couple parts too!

My family and I saw it last weekend, and we thought it was great! We all definately got teary eyed during a few scenes. Loved the storyline, all the characters, and the songs. I'd definately see it again, and we're definately buying it when it comes out on dvd!
