Two Birthdays, a new job, and two steps forward at long last! Pt 10

Me (Jennifer, aka Mickey’sGIrl) – Celebrating my 41st birthday
DS12 (Harry) – Celebrating his 12th birthday
DS6 (Euan) – Celebrating life, cuz it’s pretty good when you’re 6 and at Disneyworld!

Day 10 – Sunday May 30

We were up at 6, and out to our car and on the road by 7. We hit the airport and were checked in and through security by 8:30. We got some pastries from a bakery, and some coffee from Starbucks, then headed off to our gate to wait. Turns out we would be waiting longer than expected, as the plane coming down to get us had mechanical issues, and we had to wait on a charter to save us. We were eventually on our way home by 5:30, only 6 ½ hours late (and having spent 9 quality hours with our children and 150 others at that gate). We got home, and unpacked and into bed by 9:30, for it would be back to work and school the next morning.

Sorry to hear of the delay. But other than that is seems you had a fabulous vacation!! Thanks for taking the time to share with all of us!!

Oh man!

Now I understand your comment a bit more about flying instead of driving. With that delay, you could have made it over half way home from the time you left for the airport in the morning!

Notwithstanding that insanely long delay, what a wonderful trip you've had. Your family had many things to celebrate, and it sure sounds like you all did. Thanks for taking the time to share your wonderful memories with us!

Rough way to end your trip! It's too bad you didn't know about the delay earlier - you might have been able to enjoy a few more Disney hours!

Even knowing how your trip ended, it still stinks to think you guys had those 6 wonderful Florida hours in the airport.

But I guess every trip has those moments... and at least yours were at the very end!! Just glad you got home safely!

That is not so much a "delay" as a lets see how long you can keep random strangers together without making them all cry. Glad that you did get home safe and sound however.
