Paying for Checked Baggage

We are flying out of BWI on Sat. a.m. via AirTran. I plan on doing online check-in and printing boarding passes at home before we leave (on Fri.) but I was wondering if at the time we check-in can we pay for our checked bags at that time?

I am familiar with doing the return check-in at the resorts so no problem there.

I guess I always assumed they charged you for your bags when you checked them in at the airport?

I know when my mom came to visit last month, (she flew Delta), she had the option of checking in early online at home, and paying the fee then with credit/debit card. The fee was $23 for the first bag if she paid then, but $25 if she waited until she got to the airport.

We fly out of BWI Sat. AM as well - 7am AirTran flight! When you do the online check-in on Friday, you'll be prompted to input the number of checked bags, and charged at that time. You'll then present your paperwork to either the skycap or AirTran desk when you arrive at the airport Sat. Have a magical trip!! Only 4 more sleeps!
