Default Resort outside Disnry for 1 night

I have friends traveling to the World in August. They are staying in Disney but are looking for a resort outside Disney for 1 night. I personally have never stayed outside WDW so I figured that I would ask all of you for suggestions. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!

We stayed at Comfort Inn off exit 68 (I think) in January. It was about $80.00 a night...and this was New Year's Eve. It was very nice, they have a bus to WDW and breakfast deal.

i was going to suggest the same place, I have stayed there before and it's renovated. Lots of food choices around that road too. There are other hotels on the road, as well, Palm Parkway, a nice Holiday Inn Express, too.

Last September we did a road trip to WDW.We arrived in the area a day earlier than planned.
We spent that extra night at Knights Inn on 192 right outside WDW for less than $40. It was nothing fancy, very plain in fact, but it served our purpose for one night.

Holiday Inn Sunspree off of SR535, the park entrance to DTD and all Disney property is 1/4 mile down the road on the left. Rooms are big and pool is great!

Last year we did arrival night at the Marriott Village in Lake Buena Vista. It's campus set up with a Courtyard by Marriott, a Fairfield Inn and one other hotel. We stayed at the Fairfield and wouldn't hesitate to go back. There's a small food court on site, very close to several chain restaurants and the entrance has a security gate and guard set up. I think we paid about $70 for the night. There was a really good complimentary hot breakfast buffet the next morning.

I would like to suggest that you look into staying at one of the value Disney resorts. We scratched our heads for a while trying to figure where to stay outside for a couple of nights. Once we priced compared it was a no brainer. The value Disney resorts are cheaper...and they are on Disney property.

I am looking for a short stay off site too, 2 nights for me. That Comfort Inn sounds great - I can't figure out which one it is, do you know if it's Universal Studios Area? or Lee Road? International? Lake Buena Vista? I'm not familiar enough with the area to know which is exit 68,

    Default Gaylord Palms Resort

It is a little pricey, but is absolutely amazing. Has several different atriums, lots of places to eat and shop. If you have kids any age there is a scavenger hunt throughout the resort and they play movies at their indoor pool. Checkout the website, it is only like 4 miles from Disney World on I-4.
