    Default IASW Question

I don't know where to put this exactly, so please move it if I'm wrong! On our last three trips there have been some new boats on IASW (yes, its actually one of our favorites!). I imagine they came after the rehab. Anyway, usually we have no trouble with the boats on any of the rides even with RA, bad knees, and other health problems. There is at least one boat on IASW that gives us problems to the point that I hurt my knee getting out. The seats are a lot closer together or something. We avoided the ride after that but I'd really like to go on it in the future. Do you think the CM would have any idea if the boat is a new one with those seats or if there is any good way to approach this? TIA for any advice!

DW and I are both ECV users. The handicapped boat will take on an ECV.
I am not in as bad shape as DW, so I rarely take my ECV on any rides, but these ECV boats, the seats are very low and it was very hard and painful for me to get up from my seat.

My mom has had bad knees for many years. She recently had a double knee replacement and is still adjusting. She has used a wheelchair for the last several trips. As I am sure you know they can roll the wheelchair on several of the boats that are specifically designed for this use. Disney is extremely accomodating when it comes to special needs. I have never had a problem finding just the right thing for my Mom to do as far as riding any ride goes. So by all means ask if the CM's if they can point out the right boat. Also watch the boats in Mexico, my mom opted to try to get in and out without the chair and she almost got stuck. We had to lift her out, again the CM was wonderful.
Best of luck and don,t ever worry about asking to get what makes you both the most comfortable, have fun!
