Are there any benefits to staying on sight like extra magic hours or shuttles from the airport like the magical expree? Just trying to weigh our options and finances.

EMH at DLR works differently than WDW ... Magic Mornngs are 1 hour prior to openng on 4 specific mornings and it only includes Fantasyland and Tomorrowland at the DLR. Its great because normally everyone storms off towards Nemo so you can do all the rides in Fantasyland AND get on Buzz and Space Mountain (or at least get a Fast Pass) prior to Regular Park Opening. EMH is for guest of the DLR Hotels and some multi-day pass holders and special packages through AAA Travel only and other travel providers only.

** Magic Morning admission allows admission into selected attractions at a designated Disneyland® Resort Theme Park before the Park opens to the general public on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. To enhance the Magic Morning experience, it is strongly recommended that Guests arrive at least one hour and 15 minutes prior to regular Park opening. Magic Morning admission is based on availability and does not operate daily. Applicable Theme Park days and times of operation and all other elements including, but not limited to, operation of attractions, entertainment, stores and restaurants and appearances of Disney Characters may vary and are subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply.

There is no free shuttle at DLR, there is Disneyland Express Shuttle for a low fee that goes to the 3 hotels of the DLR as well as most area hotels.
