Jan. 26, 1905 – Character actor Charles Lane, the voice of George Hautecourt in Disney’s animated “The Aristocats,” was born in San Francisco, Ca.
Jan. 26, 1918 – Actor Vito Scotti was born in San Francisco, Ca. His Disney credits include “Herbie Goes Bananas,” “Herbie Rides Again,” “The World’s Greatest Athlete,” and “The Aristocats.”
Jan. 26, 1926 – Screen legend Paul Newman (the voice of Doc Hudson in the Disney/Pixar animated feature “Cars” was born in Shaker Heights, Oh.
Jan. 26, 1938 – Disney’s first full length animated feature “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was released in Argentina.
Jan. 26, 1945 – Disney’s Donald Duck cartoon “The Clock Watcher” was released.
Jan. 26, 1955 – The Disney TV show aired episode 2 of “Davy Crockett Goes to Congress.”
Jan. 26, 1958 – Emmy Award-winning stand-up comedienne, TV hostess and actress Ellen DeGeneres was born in Metairie, La. She is the voice of Dory for the 2003 hit animated Disney/Pixar film “Finding Nemo.” As of 1996 Degeneres also hosts “Ellen’s Energy Adventure,” located in the “Universe of Energy” at Epcot.
Jan. 26, 1964 – Disney’s part-1 of its 2-part TV movie “Bristle Face” was released. (Part-2 aired Feb. 2, 1964)
Jan. 26, 1972 – The Disney TV show “The Mouse Factory,” directed by Ward Kimball, aired its first episode of 43.
Jan. 26, 1990 – Disney’s Educational Film “The Hearts and Lungs Play Ball,” “The Brain and the Nervous System Think Science,” and “The Bones and Muscles Get Rhythm” all part of The Wonders of Life Series, were released.
