    Default 1st Pin Trading Trip

Well, we just got back from our first trip to WDW where we traded pins...what fun!

We had bought a grab bag of 25 pins to trade...they lasted the first day...lol...so we had to buy 2 sets of starter pins just to have something to trade. (Not counting the pins that we bought because I had to have them)

We traded with every CM who had a visible lanyard or pin pad and Guest Services at all the parks...and the pin board at CBR.

One evening a group of pin traders set up shop at Epcot...that was neat! Some of these people have books and books of pins. (I think my DH is worried that I might go over the edge)

My DW went over the edge. We all call her "crazy pin lady" now. Whenever we go, she buys around 300 pins for our family of five to trade. We can do that in a week.

This last time she bought two of those "pin books" on clearance from the Disney Outlet store in that big outlet mall right off-property, and she spent a few evenings last week putting all her pins that she loves in them. She tells me she wants to get a big cork board and cover it with felt, and then mount it somewhere in the house so the kids can look at the pins they've collected.

Well, you can get a starter kit of four pins for around $23 and sometime five pins for $25. Most people (we found out from the CMs) buy the "baby" character pins to start their children trading.

I think a board for the family to look over and discuss is a great idea! Our local Disney store stopped selling the pins...I think they should do something like that too! It might get others interested in trading....it's fun fun fun
