Star Tours Rehab

I think I remember reading something about a Star Tours rehab, but can't find it. Is that right? If so, when will it be done? We are thinking about coming down for Star Wars weekends this summer and were wondering if that was going to happen before then. (or at all!)

I'm fairly certain that Star Tours is scheduled to be closed in October 2010 for a refurb. Star Tours 2.0 is expected to open late 2011. So you can get a few more "tours" in for this year's Star Wars Weekends.

You would think they'd close it right after Star Wars weekend and open it up right before the next year's event. But that's just me.

I have heard it will close in October 2010 for the refurb nothing concrete just a rumour at this point. But if I had to guess I would say they wait Until January 2011after the Holidays.

I saw a press release at the end of last year that detailed a ton of upcoming changes (mostly to the Magic Kingdom Dumbo area refurb) that brought up the long rumoured Star Tours update.

I love Star Wars and Star Tours, and this ride is screaming for a high def (and hopefully 3D) update. Could be the coolest ride in the park if they do it right.

I just wish they'd go whole hog and make a more defined Star Wars area of the park, with a Cantina Bar. That would be awesome.

Yes it is time for an update to the ride and more Star Wars specific attractions. With 7 movies and a tv show there is alot of material to work with.
