Question on various WDW tours...

Hi everyone! Hoping I can get some details & clarification from my friends here on Intercot regarding WDW Tours.

My DH & I are doing a couple of tours on our next WDW trip in May 2010: Wilderness Back Trail Adventure Off-Road Segway Tour and Keys to the Kingdom Tour. Do we need to book the tours 180 days out, like dining? Do you have to pay in full for the tour when you make your reservation, or do they just hold your credit card with/without a deposit? Do you pay the balance before the tour, or at the time of the tour? Do you receive literature/info on exactly where/when to meet the tour group?

Also, on the WDW website it lists a different phone number for the Off-road Segway tour...has anyone experienced this? Or can I book all these tours through the WDW Tour phone number?

Sorry for all the questions....but this is the first time that we've been able to afford the tours and I'm soooooo excited!

Booking for tours has generally followed the same time frame as dining but it's getting hard to keep up with all the changes Dinsey keeps instituting!

Recreation is generally handled by another department than dining but you can get switched from one to the other when you call. I don't believe I was charged until I actually participated in the tour.

IN general, I don't recall receiving any specific written information. Generally, you're told when and where to report when you make your reservation.

I've never booked 180 days out for a tour. I have booked last minute (like the week of)and maybe a month or so beforehand. They do just hold your credit card and its charged when you arrive for the tour. You recieve the exact time and location about the tour when you book.
I don't know about the other tours but I've done the Keys to the Kingdom tour and you meet at City Hall minutes before beginning time.
