Default V - The Series (ABC Tuesdays!)

Ok, is anyone else SUPER excited for this new show? I am really hoping it's good because the original series FREAKED me out when I was young! Who watched? What did you think?

I can't wait - we are not getting it in the UK till next year but they have started to advertise it on the Sci Fi channel and it looks great.
I am a huge fan of the original and have it on DVD

I didn't watch the original. It wasn't for me back then. But I did catch the new one and it was watchable, though predictable. I don't really follow any Tuesday shows so far, so I will probably watch it again. I would give it two and a half stars out of five.

My fiance was a big fan of the original. Never saw it myself though he has the box set. We watched this last night... I thought a lot of the acting was pretty bad. I like the premise, but I didn't really get into it until the end. I'm not sure it will last, but we'll see!

I loved the original series! I don't know why, looking back, that I had a crush on Marc Singer. I recently saw one of the old episodes and Jeez! his pants were tight!

I was surprised, at first, that the new one delved straight into the fact that people already know that the Visitors are bad. I was more surprised that a traitor visitor already revealed himself! I think that since we all already know that the Visitors are lizards, the storyline needed to progress that quickly.

Yeah, the acting! Some really good actors giving some really stale, dragging performances. I was thinking maybe the writing was at fault, too. There was a pivotal scene toward the end that re-hooked me when I was ready to walk away, which is probably when you got into it, too, Maryanne. But I don't want to give too much away. It was enough to make me give it more of a chance.

Also, what has Scott Wolf done to himself? He was looking a little freaky in the show.

    He's definitely had work done.

I never got into the original series. I would have never considered watching this one based on the plot. My wife and I are huge Firefly/Serenity fans so anything with Morena Baccarin or Alan Tudyk (Nathan Fillion or Summer Glau for that matter), we check out.

It was okay. I'm sure we'll check out a few more episodes but I don't have high hopes.

Ditto, for why we watched it (though the terminator thing was not for me). I agree the acting seemed stilted somehow (I'm wondering if that was to be how we would know they were all worried or something? Have everyone be formal?)

I do agree that they had to give us the lizard and rebels and the like so much faster this time than last..wonder how that's going to work out with the planned hiatus

I agree with you about the quick pacing of the new series. I was hesitant to get into it....but by the end I was liking it.

I agree with you even more about loving the original!!! Marc Singer's tight 80's pants and feathered hair were the things of young girls dreams back then. heehee
Also Juliette Parish was my hero, I totally wanted to be her and lead the resistance.
