I haven't given up the dream but the Monday before the deposits were due, I found out that: a) my job (and me with it, thank goodness) is being moved to another department, and b) my mom and stepdad were in a car accident (luckily their car was the only casualty). However, this probably signals that the time to find an assisted living facility is drawing close. The combination of both elements made me skittish to tie up a large sum of money right now. We still want to go, but I'll just have to wait until the time is right to plunk down the deposit.
