Setting the Mood
I was wondering what others who drive down do to "set the mood" for a WDW vacation...for instance, when our kids were younger we used to play classic disney movies for about the last 3 hours of the drive...and now that their older we have a Classic Disney Song CD we play...anyone do anything similar or have some thing you to do have your crew in a "Disney Mood" when you get there?
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow

We have a 9 hour drive and start out around 3 or 4 in the afternoon (our kids are young so we hope they will go to sleep).
We play Disney movies all of the way down. We have also recently purchased a set of DVDs from someone who filmed attractions in each of the parks along with Fantasmic and Wishes. My kids love to watch the parades and shows. We plan to have them with us this time too.
Also, Disney Bingo works well. I just make color copies of the boards and give my kids a magic marker... they love it!

On the way to the airport, we play one of our theme park soundtrack CDs, and always make sure to play either Illuminations, Wishes or the Electric Parade theme, depending on which park we're to go to that day.
It does a lot to get us excited and in the mood for the trip!

We have literally thousands of Disney songs from parks around the world, movies, shows, etc., so plenty of Disney music gets played in the car.
I also load up our iPhones with Disney movies, and since we have an MP3 jack in our car stereo, we can listen to the movie as well as watch it (that is, for the one who isn't driving).
DH also likes to play a little game....We pick a park/resort/DTD, then have to name something that we would be eating if we were there. Or we pick a park, and name a ride or attraction that we would go on first. It's a lot of fun and can really kill time. We even do that sometimes when we're driving at home, too.
We don't have little kids to entertain in the car on the way to WDW....JUST US BIG KIDS!!!

We read through our Disney Trivia book and see who knows the answers the fastest and then about 2 hours away from WDW we pop in the Dinsey cd's and start singing along.

We play Disney music in the car for the last month before we leave. We just hit our 1 month mark and I made chocolate chip cookies in Mickey Mouse heads with the ears dipped in chocolate to mark the 1 month mark. My sister was just down there, so while she was there I had her pick up Mickey snacks and will make goody bags for all of us on the plane. I also will usually bring a DIsney coloring book or regular book and some favorite DIsney movies to watch on the plane.

When we would drive to DL (approximately an eight hour trip) my mom would play a "singing" game with us. Someone in the car would pick a topic (say colors) and everyone would take turns trying to come up with Disney songs that fit the category. When no one could think of anymore, the last person to sing one picks the next topic (say boys names). The game would continue for hours. We spent a lot of the trip that way. Great fun and it really got you thinking of Disney!
