Default Visa Rewards/How can they be used?

I want to use some of my rewards from Disney Visa towards tipping at dinner or maybe use it for any extras at dinner (drinks, apps) does anyone know if you can do this and if so...how? Do you just tell your server how much you want taken out of the rewards card?

Have never used my rewards for this purpose before so I'm not sure if it can used like this.

    Thanks,
    Nicole

You can use it for anything at the world (well, I haven't come across anyplace that wouldn't take it). Use it like you would any other credit or debit card. Using it at a restaurant, you'll get the usual printed bill with non-DDP costs due as well as the usual space to write in tip amount. Just write the tip on as you normally would and hand over your KTTW (for DDP) and your rewards card. You'll get a receipt that shows the balance remaining on your rewards card and I think you still get a receipt showing how many TS & CS meals you have left. Easy and very convenient!

I just got my first Disney VISA, so I have a question.

What is the "rewards card"? Is it different than the actual credit card?

It is a separate card that you can order once you have accrued 20 Rewards Credits (spent $2000 on your Disney Visa)

Before you go off and order your Rewards card, there are a couple things to take into account:
    1) The Rewards card is good for one (1) year from date of issue.
    2) Any rewards credits transferred to the card and not used by the expiration date are lost. They cannot by put back into your account.
    3) After receiving your Rewards card, you can transfer credits to the card in multiples of 10.
    4) Credits have a value of $1.00 in Disney stores, carts, restaurants, etc. (i.e. 10 Rewards credits = $10)

    Hope this helps.

Your Rewards Card is the same as a gift card that you would get at Wal Mart, Drug Store, ect.

When you order your rewards card ( after you have accumulated $20 in rewards ) It will have an expiration date, not worry it lasts a long time. You can use it just like any other gift card and it is reusable until it expires. You must remember though that you must use all of the reward dollars that have been down loaded onto the card before it expires or you will lose them.

At the Disney Chase card site they have all of the information on the card that you would ever want to know.

    Hope this helps

Interesting thread! Can I use my rewards card at the different kiosks at EPCOT during the F & W festival? Sure would be a lot easier than carrying around a pocket of small bills.

You sure can! We used up our entire balance, and then, since the billing period had just closed, we used our iPhone to transfer over the new rewards dollars onto the card we already had and spent those too (it was a very good day).

The cards I have had have always been good until 12/31 of the year following the date of issue.

For example, the card I ordered in the summer of 2007 was good until 12/31/08.

Not long after we received our cards, we received a $15 gift card from Visa. Can we add the Rewards money to that gift card?

I charge everything to my room, this way I only have to carry one card around since it also doubles as your park ticket and then the night before we check out I go to the front desk and pay down the balance with my reward card. You can also ask for a room charge print out anytime during your stay so you can see how much you have spent.

Be careful! I thought you could use it anywhere on Disney property and learned the hard way that this isn't true. I believe that the difference is that the business has to be Disney OWNED. I got hit on 2 separate occasions on one trip that came to a couple hundred dollars. That wasn't money that I budgeted for...I won't make that mistake again! Ask to be sure that the business takes it.

The 2 places I made the mistake at was at The Rainforest Café at AK and the pearl shop in Typhoon Lagoon....

The only thing I'm confused about is:

We have accrued a bunch of Disney Dollars and got them transferred to a Disney Rewards card (which I just got in the mail).

How do I pay for our Disney vacation with this rewards card?

I guess I should ask our contact at MJ's again; she tried to explain it to me, but all I remember is that I was supposed to get the rewards card. Now I'm all confused as to where to go from here! (That's what you get for having an overloaded MOMMY BRAIN I suppose!)

When you transfer your points to the hard card, they become cash. Just like a gift card, and you can spend them anywhere owned by Disney. Food, gifts, rooms, tickets, etc.

It's a neat card for Disney freaks like us.

I wondered this too, but the woman from Visa told me I would have to apply the rewards to the vacation (by telling the travel agent about it) before the amount goes onto my credit card. Only thing is...I wanted to use the 40 points I would've gotten from putting the vacation on my card and you can not do that!

We also charge everything to our room. It gives us a good print out of everything.
After I have charged a certain amount I go to the front desk and just apply all our rewards points to the bill at this time.
