    Default What's Next For DVC!

Well let me begin by saying my DW n I have just added on at AKV! Yes we are very excited about that! We decided to go with AKV over BLT because we like the the look and feel of AKV.

I just wanted to ask this question of all the DVC members on this board to see what they felt or think the future holds for DVC AND DVD?

The reason I ask this question is I came across a very interesting paragraph amongst all the legal mumbo jumbo we are all supposed to read before signing these very important documents !

    The Paragraph reads as follows.....

Disney's resort on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii is only a possible component site which may never be added to the Disney Vacation Club multi site timeshare plan. Do not purchase an interest in a DVC resort in reliance upon the addition of this component site or the addition of any new resorts. Neither DVD nor TWDC Companies have any obligation to build any additional DVC resorts or to add any additional component sites to the DVC multi site timeshare plan.

So what do you think that means? To me it says they can build it but dont have to add it to the DVC family. They can sell it totally separate. So if you want to stay you'll have to buy points for that new resort.

It's wide open to interpretation. So what kind of spin can you put on that?

No, I think what it means the plan to build the Hawaii site isn't final yet and it may never happen so don't buy into DVC with the intention that you'll be able to use it to stay in Hawaii.

Joe Rhode is the lead Imagineer on the hotel in Hawaii.... I am sure it is being built... now, the hotel in DC, well, that may be another story...
Son of Jor-El.. Kneel before Zod...

TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Basically it's just a legal statement to cover Disney just in case they pull out of the project or decide to change the rules for booking in Hawaii. They could decide to make it a stand alone home resort points only venture or have other rules that may restrict booking further for existing members. I really wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Don't worry about it. The Disney Lawyers have all sorts of statements in there to cover in the event of this or that. If you own AKV, there is also a statement in there that they will not gaurantee there will be animals on the savannah in years to come, or something to that effect, too.
