You must have missed the game the night before, that the Yanks won 11-4.

Even though the stadium stinks, we had such a good time at the game last night (where the Rays SPANKED the Yankees ) and plan on going a lot more, and team itself overall seems very likeable. I'm a fan!
Mel, you can join my parents as fans of the Rays as they adopted them when they moved back (no Rays when we lived there the 1st time). Made for an interesting World Series last year, kids vs. the parents . I actually like going to games there. We always go to games when I make my summer visit. It's not shiny and new with bells and whistles like Citizens Bank Park, but they have decent views of the field, especially for the wheelchair seating which is where we sit (Mom uses a wheelchair).
Mel, did you sit in MacDillville?

Acctually, New Jersey has two football teams.

My opinion, if you are from a sports gray area, it is acceptable to be fans of teams in either city.
I call it the DMZ. OK, I just Google Earthed it and I grew up (and still live) 45.5 miles from Shea and 47.5 from The Vet. Phew, just made it.
Christine, it's funny you brought up "Baseball". I'm watching my VHS's of that right now. Watched the episode your talking about (7th inning) two nights ago.

I bet that was interesting in your house last year Christine!

LOL! I'm assuming you mean the section where all the military sit who buy their tickets from the base? If so, not last night. We decided last minute to go, and the base was already sold out of their tickets. We plan on going that route in the future though.
Wish we could go back tonight and see Chamberlain and Garza throw. It's fun going to Rays-Yanks games because there are so many Yankee fans in the area due to their spring training being here. Heard lots of back and forth (including in my own family ), but it was all in good fun.

The seats for MacDill personnel are really nice seats (the section actually had a sign saying MacDillville last year, though that may not be the case this year). We are going to game at the Trop in a few weeks to celebrate my birthday.

That's what's alot of fun about going to games.
I used to go to Dolphins/Jets games at the Meadowlands, but the Jet fans in recent years have taken it a little too far.

I have been following David Price since he came to Vanderbilt....Commodore fan for 37 long years now that's loyalty. When he became a Ray I still prefer the Sox in the A.L.
Like someone said earlier I idolized Yaz as a kid. So since ESPN makes the planet choose between the two I prefer the Sox. I also cheer for the Nats because one of the players and I are good freinds...but my true love lies with the Brew Crew.
Loads of trips since 1974...

I grew up in PA near Philly and am a fan of any Big 5 college b-ball in the tourney, Flyers, Eagles, and Penn State football.
So I have a question for the "fraud experts":
I have been a Red Sox fan from birth.
My father, although he has no geographical ties to Boston, rooted for the Red Sox since the 40s because he was Ted Williams fan.
Am I considered a fraud?

Well, you said you are a Red Sox fan from birth, thus your parents raised you as a Sox fan. Your father isn't a fraud either, as in the 40's you did not have a lot of choices and media coverage isn't what it is today for all teams. Never can fault anyone for liking Ted Williams!
Never said this was an exact science .

Scar, I was thinking of you when I made that post.

I have all nine "innings" on my DVR (taped from when MLB Network ran it). I may need to watch that episode tonight before the Phillies game in AZ...

Yes, but you only score a 4 on the Ian Scale of Fradulent Fandom.
By comparison, Pagan scores an 86.

I am relieved that I score so low.
Since he's a Yankees fan, I think he may score a 90.
BTW, good move for the Phils getting Lee. He has good stuff and is an innings eater.

And on the "think for yourself" scale...Ian scores a whopping 2.
Way to go Ian!

I know. It's an infestation.
And did you ever notice that none of them will own up to being frontrunners? They all come up with these elaborate stories about how their Fathers knew Babe Ruth or some baloney.
We all know the truth though ...
