    Default Halloween at Ft. Wilderness

For the first time we will be camping at the Fort on Halloween. Since this will be new to us I am looking for comments. Do the children get to trick or treat thru the loops and if so we will need to bring candy to give out. We already have our blow ups to display. we figured that was a given. No interest in Halloween party at M.K. What else is there for the kids to do.. Thanks

We have never had the fortune to be at the Fort on Halloween. I will be watching to see what answers you get. How fun would that be to Trick or Treat around the loop??!!

I would think most people would be at the parks until it's too late to trick or treat, but I guess it's worth a try.

In years past, I believe they had done Trick or Treatin' at Downtown Disney. Not sure if it's still ongoing or not.

We were at FW in 2006. On Halloween night, we went to the Campfire Program. They had a pumpkin carving contest. After the singing program, the Headless Horseman came riding through, dropping 2 big bags on the stage which were filled with candy!. Everyone (big and small ) lined up and got a quart sized zip- lock bag of candy. It was great!. We also took the Haunted Hayride on another night. In reading other posts, I understand last year they had a Haunted Carriage ride. We're going this year in October, but cannot be there on Halloween. i hope you have fun.

Mickey98, Halloween is our favorite time at FW. There are planned FW activities all day starting with a pet parade, crafts, dance party, bingo, dodgeball, pumpkin carving contest and the campfire movie is Sleepy Hollow. Yes at dusk t or t starts and my older boys (11 and 8) had to return to our rv and get their pillow cases. Our oldest (d 13) stayed at the campsite and handed out the candy.

The campsites are decorated just as much (if not more) than Christmas. Some are cute, others are scary, but all and all it is a great time.

We will be arriving on the 30th this year and staying all weekend. We look forward to seeing you there.
