I am looking for suggestions. We're going to be able to take a bit more time on this trip, and I'm looking for neat ways to travel between the parks. We're planning to take the Friendship, for one thing, but I know there's other water travel - how does that work?

Have lunch on the Boardwalk and you can walk to Epcot. Walking to Boardwalk (especially in the evening is fun!) From Epcot, you can hop on the monorail to TTC and switch to go to the MK.

The Friendship also boards at the Boardwalk, you can go to HS or Epcot that way.

You can also take a Ferry from TTC to the MK.

The last time we went, the only time we took a bus was to AK. I love the boats and monorail and even if it takes a few more minutes, I just like to enjoy the ride.

There are boats between MK and the MK-area resorts, and boats between DTD and POR and POFQ.

Take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian. Take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness or Wilderness Lodge. Take a boat from Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, or Saratoga Springs to Downtown Disney. Take a boat from Disney Studios to Epcot or vice versa.

And just to the right of the entrance to DHS, catch a boat to Swan/Dolphin, Yacht & Beach Club and The Boardwalk.

Also, TTC to MK and or vice versa!

Okay, I saw this word used here on Intercot for the first time ever on yesterday, and now it appears again today, so while I think I might know, I must ask...

    What is "the Friendship"...

The Friendships are the larger boats they use over at Epcot to go across World Showcase.

They use similar boats in other places, as well.

Personally, I like to walk as much as possible. There's a great walk between the Grand and the Poly/TTC. You can walk to the Contemporary from MK. You can take a great walk between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness as well as from SSR to DTD.

Even the walk from Epcot to MGM is a great way to get there from here.

Great suggestions! We plan to explore the Boardwalk so we can incorporate that into our "different ways" trip.

    Thanks for the ideas!

You can also walk from the Ticket and Transporation Center to the Poly and the Grand Floridian.

Not sure what you're asking? There's a boat at MGM and it goes to Epcot. There's a sidewalk at MGM and it leads to Epcot.

Both of them travel by Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, and Yacht/Beach Clubs, you can stop at any of the resorts along the way.

At Hollywood Studios, the boat pickup is to the right of the bus stations. In Epcot, it's behind the UK.

Coming out of the DHS gates, the boat dock is to the left, and the sidewalk is to the right (runs between the lake and the resort bus stops). During the walk, you can stay on the Boardwalk side, or you can choose to cross a bridge and go around by the Y&BC. Either way, you'll end up at the International Gateway at Epcot, near the UK pavilion.

Assuming you're standing facing the DHS gates.

Perhaps I shouldn't assume they'd look for a boat where there is water?

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be snarky. Right and left is relative depending on which way you face. I always think of the boat as being to the "left" since I think of myself looking at the lake with my back to the DHS gates. With your use of "right," as related to the bus, I just thought some clarification might be helpful.
