I dream about staying 12-15 days, but we just can't get the tome off work/school, so we go Saturday to Sunday in order to maximize the one week off that we can get. We try to get there as early as possible on Saturday so we have the whole day.

We've found that the longer the stay at WDW, the more relaxed we are for the entire trip, and the more we enjoy our vacation! 7 - 9 days is perfect for us, plenty of time for the parks & still some down time for swimming, & exploring other fun things WDW has to offer!

We usually stay for 4 weeks.
Travelling from Europe it takes a day or two to ajust to the time change and then we have lots of time to take it easy, try several different hotels and enjoy ourselves.
Shortest we have stayed (first time) was 16 days, the longest was 6 1/2 weeks.

9 full days and nights there and 3/4 of the day we leave. Oh boy am I gonna have fun... No grandchild this time so maybe we can see more than character lines. I have yet to get to World showcase and seen anything at it. We get there and are too tired to tour so we leave. Not this time... Next year we are taking them to Disney land since one will be 7 and one 2 and one 1 think that would be best for the little ones but not for me...

Our trips have gotten longer each time.... 1st w/ girls was 4 nights, 4 days... trip on our own was 3 nights, 3 days... next trip w/ girls was 7 nights, 8 days.... trip on my own w/ g'friends was 4 nights, 4 days... and our upcoming trip is 10 nights, 11 days (but only 9 in the parks... arrival day is evening, and departure day is late morning. Do I dare put a after that sentence??)

We have found that having a longer stay really relaxes us, which is what we're looking for.... but that being said, with our girls being the ages they are (almost 8 & 11), we are going to be increasingly limited by their need to not miss school, and we may end up taking more long weekend trips, or "enjoying" the heat of the summer to get a longer vacation in.

Regardless, I think no matter how many days/nights we are there, it will never be quite long enough!!

Our vacations are anywhere from 10 to 14 days no matter where we are going. The years we go to Disney we sometimes combine the 3 day cruise with a 7day stay.

    WOW! 6 1/2 weeks? That's awesome! I'm jealous!

Our trips have also gotten longer just about every year. We started off doing 6 nights/7 days, but our past 2 trips have been 11 nights/12 days!

We started out years ago doing about 4 days, but I wouldn't survive on that now. This year it will be Saturday-Saturday in early August, though since we fly in we'll only get a little bit of time the first Saturday and about half the day the last Saturday. In 2 years I'll have both kids in college and then my wife and I may do a solo trip of 9 days or so covering both weekends.

5-7 day trips got my vote. Our trips, even when I was a kid, never exceeded 7 nights. I hope that our next trip will be 8-10 nights, maybe hitting one of the DVC resorts at Vero Beach or HHI for a couple of days on the way home. Now that WDW is so big, it seems like you feel rushed to fit everything in even with a six night stay, so I'm hoping for 8-10 nights so that we can have a couple of non-park days to unwind.

Interesting poll results. Thanks for all your responses.
Among intercotees responding so far, it looks like more than 60% of you stay for 7 or more days on each visit. I have to admit I'm jealous because one week is usually our outside limit.

I wonder if Disney makes public any stats on the average length of stay for all guests to WDW (at least those that stay on site). Does anybody know?

Every trip, I keep thinking we should at least go on Friday night, so we wake up there on Saturday. It wouldn't extend our Sat to Sun trip as far as park days go, but it would be nice to get there in the evening and relax before the next day. We normally fly in as early as possible, but even with an early flight, it's not soon enough for me.
