Anyone heard of a Pars Defect in your Spine?

Hey everyone, I was hurt at work in May and my doctor has told me I have a pars defect on my L4, he explained I could have lived without ever knowing about it but my fall has irritated it and caused my pain. Anyone else with this any info, insight, glimmer of hope for me? Thanks all!

I have it in my L4 vertebrae as well. My mom doesn't even have the L4 disc for some genetic reason. My sister's is extremely degenerative.

I had been to several chiropractors to correct the issue and fix it when it was out of alignment. The last chiropractor I went to told me he could solve 99.9% of the problem instantly. He said I had to see him for 3 treatments first. I guess he wanted some compensation because he felt I would not see him again. He wrote it down in an envelope, put it in my file. After my 3rd visit, he handed me the envelope and said I would be cured.

What was in the envelope? A note saying to get the wallet out of my back pocket. I went to a bill fold for my front pocket back in 1999. I have not had a back issue since. Now, if this is not your case, examining your posture at all times is critical. You may have to reeducate yourself on how you sit, stand, sleep, etc. Any abnormal posture that causes your hips to displace put pressure on the L4. The more the pressure is pushing it out of whack the more problems you will encounter.
