    Question MNSSHP Tips

We just purchased our MNSSHP tix for this Fall and are psyched. Do folks wear costumes? Any suggestions for getting the most bang for the buck, since these are extra-cost tickets over and above normal admission?

You will get a lot of tips and tricks as to maximizing your time at the party, but in the end just relax and have fun! Regarding special notes on the party, here is my 2 cents:

Costumes? Yes, it is amazing how many of us dress up for the party. DW and I were fully costumed last year and will be this year as well.

Do you eat candy? Then by all means hit all of the Trick or Treat Stations (don't miss the walk around the back of Tomorrow land with Alice!

Get special pics taken with Photopass at Haunted Mansion and other places. Some pretty cool shots with ghosts, etc.

If you want to get your picture with a character, watch the times and get there EARLY, or trust me you will miss it. DW and I missed Snow White and the 7 Dwarves because of this.

Get a good spot for the beginning of the parade and try to get an unobstructed view well before it starts. You DO NOT want to miss the Headless Horseman's' ride through. Very cool!

Take lots of pictures, check out the decorations and ride some of the rides in the dark.
MNSSHP is one of the best times we have had in MK and is lots of fun. One note, if the Villains Mix and Mingle show is on, skip it, it was pretty lame (for us anyway). Otherwise, the party is great!

Yes, many adults and most children wear costumes. It's a really fun time. One tip I learned was not to go with too extensive of a costume... the mrs and I went as Jack and Sally from NBC one year (costumes from the Disney Store) and the Jack mask was so big and cumbersome that it really cut down on enjoying things. Keep that in mind if you want to go on rides - accessories like wings or tails are cool but uncomfortable to sit on for rides.
    Enjoy!

My favorite party...it's great and the fireworks are really special...my tip...we don't go into the parks before the party...we are already paying for one ticket, so make the most...they will let you in MK at 4pm...that gives you 3 hours to enjoy before the party begins...

We rarely work our schedule around a parade. We usually take advantage of short lines while the parade is going on. But the MNSSHP parade? Don't miss it! It's awesome!

This party is awesome We went last year and it was HOT!! So dressing up, keep it cool, we kept our kids in lightweight and easy to take off costumes. DH dressed up as a nerdy tourist, only a few CM's got it. Don't miss the parade, the best! We would go back to this party in a heart beat, but DS will be in high school this year and both DD's are in middle school, so we don't want them to miss the first part of the year. Enjoy

Keep an eye on when the party is and the likely weather, too, when picking a costume. It can be hot in WDW in September and early October and a costume with multiple levels is going to be miserably hot.

We're going to face-paint, instead of masks so we're not too hot or uncomfortable.

You can get in early. I'm not sure about 4:30 but we were there at 5 the past two years and used our event ticket. They check your ticket and put a special wristband on you. When it hits 7pm many of the CM's will start looking to see if you are wearing a wristband.

We decided to visit MK on the day of the party. We rented a locker to put costumes in. At 5:00, we had ADR's for an early dinner at Tony's. The kids changed into their costumes (along with a lot of others) in the bathroom while we waited for our food. They cast members were ushering guests without tickets to the party out of the park. By the time dinner was over, we were refreshed and ready to take on the party.

Great event - definitely don't miss the parade. We hit the 2nd one (at 10:30pm I think) and I think that 90% of the guests left afterwards. Great time to get some last rides in if you can stay. Also - the "official" party time starts at 7:00pm. We arrived a few minutes after 7pm and lordy it was NUTS! We said if we went in the future, we'd go a bit earlier or later to avoid the "check-in" craziness. Have a blast and enjoy. And make sure to hit the candy stations - they give out a TON of candy!!!!
