Talking Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas?

Kenny and I are thinking of doing RCI Enchantment of the Seas on Oct. 22-26 before we do the F&W thing on the 26-30. I have never been on anything but DCL, never entertained the notion. But, as a travel writer, I feel that it is my duty to try different things.

So, we are thinking of going on the Key West/Cozumel itenerary and I wanted to know if anyone has done this and how did you like it?

    Default Enchantment OTS

We cruised on the Enchantment OTS last year. Our trip (and I assume yours) was just a 5 day cruise (rather short for us). She's a nice medium-size ship. We had a great time (but we love cruising, so we always have a great time). I don't know whether RCCl offers MTD on her yet (we had standard seating). RCCL is different from DCL (duh!), but for us, the price on RCCL (and many other lines) beats any "extra theming" on DCL.

Key West- a lovely town for just strolling around. We had to be onboard before sunset but were able to watch it from the promenade deck. Cozumel- we always go to Paradise Beach- very relaxing, good food, drinks, etc.

Are you flying into Ft Lauderdale? Renting a car to drive to WDW?

Since you're a travel writer, I assume you're familiar with Cruise Critic if you have any specific questions.

We're going to fly to FLL and then to WDW. I have to admit I'm nervous about cruising inn the fall....never done it before during hurricane season. Just don't wanna get

    Default FLL to port

It's a quick taxi ride from the airport to the port (and back). Lots of taxis on both ends. For some reason, I recall a $15 ride? (winter 08).

Yes, cruising in the Fall makes me a little nervous, although we've always been very lucky. Just pack your meclizine LOL! If there's any potential for dangerous weather, you'll end up cruising somewhere else (like the Eastern Caribbean), which can be disappointing, but at least you won't be sick or worse.

Have a great two=part trip. If we find deals as the time approaches, we may do the same combo.

Hint: I particularly like the enclosed "adults only" pool & hot tubs on the EOTS.
