Jared's "this time I'm not promising to finish" May 2009 Trip Report (Welcome)

I have tried to write full and detailed trip reports each of the last two or three years. I have yet to finish a single one, much to the ire of several readers out there. These things are time-consuming!

So I'm not promising I will actually complete this one. I will do the best I can. I work 10-hour days covering the Yankees and spend an unhealthy amount of time at a ballpark talking with athletes. But I am currently energized and actually want to bring you to the last day.

I am currently airside at Orlando International Airport, writing live from a table adjacent to a Freshens and Sbarro before my 7:40 jetBlue flight to White Plains, N.Y. I hope and expect to have a full day or two up before the end of the night.

Consider this post a type of introduction and welcome to what hopefully will be an insightful, funny and worthwhile trip report. My brother and I had a spectacular three days down here, and I can't wait to share all the excitement with all of you.

As a side note, I apologize for not posting much lately. I have not been reading the boards lately because of work and other real-life activities requiring my attention. For most of you, that probably doesn't matter too much. There are fewer names I recognize dotting this site whenever I pop around. But for the few people who care and wondered if I disappeared forever, you now know that I have not.

Perhaps it's time to change my signature. I've been on two trips since staying at the Beach Club last May.
