total # of characters!!??

i've made a list of every character that i've gotten a picture with while at disneyworld, and the total is 159. just wondering if anyone else is as **** as i am and has ever counted their characters and how many they've seen? i hope to be adding the up characters to my list in about a month!

It depends on what you count as characters.....Yes of course we are just as obsessed, we have I would say nearly 175 but I have not checked my list recently. We do not count Frontier Donald and Mexico Donald, or Chef Donald as three different characters as some people do.

In my humble yet obsessed opninion, any character employteed by Disney in the parks who signs autographs and posses for pictures is official character cannon. I personally do not include the Christmas Epcot characters, but that is up to the collector. I used to not include the Star Wars guys becuase it just did not seem Disney to me, but I have given in although we only have one Star Wars character anyways.

We are still relatively new to doing this, we've been officialy angling since 2004. Hopefully Disney will keep bringing out new characters for us to meet and old ones for us to re-discover.

i agree with greenlawler in that i don't count a character more than once if they are in different costumes. that may be another list i'll make though - haha! i've never thought of that before.

Yes I would, I did not phrase that correctly. Characters who cannot or will not sign I count. I do try to get autographs from every character thought. I have gotten King Louie to sign before.

As far as official cannon I do not think there is an official anglers cannon. Maybe one day we will start a threadd for Joanna, Hayden's Dad, Ilike2 workout and the other vets where we could have a disscussion about it one day but everyone is free to have their own opinion.

Just to let you know these are from Disneyland and not WDW. There is some I will not get that is out because I'm not a big fan of them like Pooh the Inc. Jessie Maleficent. I don't really care for them. I know some of you have seen them but for the ones that haven't here is the link to my photos.

Its the same 100 or so characters out every year with 2 -4 new ones based on the newest films. Seems to me you have to hit special events to get rare characters. I wish they would throw some new "fur" out. But I am thankful they give us the ones they do.

I agree with you green it's the same thing over here at Disneyland. Infact the characters for Ratatoe [ms] was the last characters for us to have a meet and greet not counting the Fairies. We never had the Prince from Naria,any of the characters from Blot out for meet and greet they where only for the per-parades only As well as the Princess from Enchantent. Not to sure id the characters for Up be a meet and greet or per-parade as well. I saw photos the other day of UP and it was for the per-parade only so who knows what Disneyland is up to. I EMail Disneyland the other day about the rare characters and they told me they well let the entertment people know.

greenlawler, i had to get way down on your list before finding anyone i've met before. you have some really rare ones. it's good to see that because it reminds me that you just never know who'll you'll run in to while there.

My oldest daughter who is five told me yesterday this was her order of favorite characters to meet.

1. Villains
2. Fairies
3. Princesses
4. Characters that do not talk (her words)

From them her favorites are The Evil Queen, Silvermist, Belle and the Beast.

I haven't heard a thing about them since. I also have Clopin, Esmeralda, Atta, Happy, Doc, Sleepy, Meg, and Shane from Mulan as rare ones, too.

Fabulous work on the Atlantis characters I was about five years too late to catch them, those two will never be in the parks again....ULTRA RARE!!!

It reminds me of one thing we character "anglers" tend to forget. In ten years Bolt, Remy, Bowler Hat Guy, Chicken Little, etc...they will be envied by those new to the "sport". Just keep on collecting and enjoy the hunt!
