They already have facial recognition software ...seems like they could do it for this too. Disney loves to replace people with machines & software whenever possible.

It never ceases to amaze me just how hard the human race strives to achieve such a nadir of consideration for others.

I fear I'll see a worsening of public tolerance for such displays.

If anyone is caught showing such activity and it is reported by ANYONE viewing those screens, the people violating park rules should be brought up on charges.

It's impossible to regulate morality but it is not impossible to enforce public decency laws regarding lewd behaviour.

As you can see from my post above, I actually did this job back in 2002! But let me clarify, it was just part of my rotation. I worked in retail in the "Hollywood Hills" area. More specifically, I worked in the gift shops of ToT and RnRc (also did pre and post show vending at F!).

While in the gift shops at either ride, we had a rotation. On days where we worked at a gift shop register, that is pretty much what we did all day.

On days when I worked at a register selling ride photos, we were on a 3 part rotation. 50% of the day was spent at a register, 25% of the day was spent at the preview area (giving out the little cards w/ the photo number on them), and the rest of the time was spent in 30 minute shifts in the editing room.

The editing room shifts were only for 30 minutes at a time. But yeah, you just sat in front of a computer and watched as the pics rolled by. If there was anything that was inappropriate (we had a list of various rules), then those photos were deleted.

If a photo was deleted, it was not gone forever, it simply didn't show up on the preview screens outside. Each photo deletion had to be logged in a hand-written log, with a time and reason for deletion. These photos were never seen again.

Most of the shifts in the edit room you saw nothing and they were QUITE boring. If I ever saw anything, it was a stray bird here and there.

The weirdest thing that happened when I was editing photos was one time there was an older guy that actually inappropriately touched a girl who was like 8 or 9 years old who was sitting next to him on ToT. There was nothing inappropriate in the ride photo (the touching I guess happened at another point in the ride), but I helped get the photo, crop out his face, and give it to the police to catch the guy. I believe he was caught on his way out of the park.

    Crazy..creepy stuff.

Wow - that is scary, but it is great that everyone moved so quickly to catch the guy.

I agree with you! If I had teenage boys that were lost. I know where I could find them.

I agree. This is just a little funny to me. I mean, we are the only country who is scared of breasts. There are countries where women openly feed their babies without covering up but aren't allowed to show their faces......we show our faces and are afraid to show our breasts. It's not a big deal. Had this read MoRe Private areas, that would be different but I fail to believe that breasts are as taboo as the media seems to think they should be.

    Talking Eewww?

Personally, I think they should randomly post security at the ride exit, and anyone who does the deed is immediately escorted from the park. Or, they could also charge them with public indecency. That might stop a few, or at the least make them think twice about it.
I think thats a great idea! But, sadly,I'm sure that's not in the budget either . . .

I'd like to know why it is that the people who tend to do this, are typically quite scary?!?!

Puts me in mind of elders in speedos . . . .

Picking your nose in public is taboo also, but I don't see any teens beating down the bush to be a part of that culture.

I don't see how it would be a budget issue. They already have security in the parks, and even some local law enforcement. It would just mean they have to occasionally go to Splash Mountain, and "patrol" the exit queue. It would just be another area for them to patrol.

    Cool

Regardless of whether you think we should/should not worry about this kind of stuff the fact is it's illegal.

If someone was walking through the park and did it, they'd be immediately grabbed, tossed out on their ear, and probably prosecuted.

Why should someone be treated differently because they did it on a ride??

And you don't see teens 'beating down the bush' to expose themselves on rides either. There are a select few that do this type of thing. Please don't use a specious comment like that to pigeon-hole ALL teens.

In any event, you cannot stop those who will try it, so you have to 'police' the photos so the regular guest won't be offended.

My comment was an attempt at humor (at best) and I hardly think most would consider it fallacious in nature. I fail to see where I "pigeon-holed" any group. Your argument against me is unfounded and unrealistic.

My maturity and age having nothing to do with my right to protect my family and me from this type of "exposure". And with Disney being a Family Destination I expect them to facilitate me in this matter (as they have done previously).

Wouldn't "management"/security be more likely to find out about this from an unhappy guest who was on the ride with the exhibitionist?

I've had the same conversation going through my head since I started reading this thread.

Child: Mom, can we go look at our picture?
Mom: Sure, honey. Can you find us?
Child: Hey, mom. Why does that girl have her shirt over her head?

It didn't bother me so much, until they started doing it on Small World.

Just kidding. I do think it's sad that a family park has to put up with this, or spend money to stop it. There are plenty of other places for these loons to be risque. Maybe a Mardi Gras grad night at POR.
