we flew the last few trips, but are driving this time. we cant stand the limitations they put on you and your luggage at the airports now. we get to bring our giant box fan for the room and cooler full of food this trip. YAY!

We have been driving, my husband is a real trouper. It was a real benefit last time- we got sick and we had to get around town.

    Cool

Flying is the way for us.
I would need to shorten our stay at WDW or use more vacation time if we would drive. I love the fact that a short, 2 hour flight, has us in Orlando and enroute to Magical Express.

We live pretty close....isn't too bad of a drive. I have flown before, but by the time that you get thru the airport, we could've been halfway there

We've done both. It's about a 19 hour drive. We just weigh our options at the time. We look at; how many are going, how much time we have, and how brave we're feeling .

We live just about an hour north of Raleigh. I couldn't imagine driving for that long with the kids "are we there yet"; "he's touching me"; "I've gotta go" all the way there. And the fact that it steals 2 days of my vacation time in travel isn't good either.

Driving for us is a 4hr trip so it would be pointless to fly.

We live approx 13 hours from WDW. It is possible for us to drive but it would cut into our vacation time since DH only gets 1 week of vacation. So, we fly every time. Not to mention that for us we play so hard the whole week that we are there that we are all pretty wiped out. It is all we could do last year to make the 1 1/2 hour ride home from the airport at 10pm. We are even flying out of a closer airport (30 min away)this year to make the return easier.

We fly...3hrs vs 24 hrs...no brainer. We have a 5th wheel camper, I would love to camp at disney but the time it would take and fuel cost, its not worth it. Besides my DD(almost 6yrs) can barely handle 5 hrs to Maine each summer nevermind 24 hrs.

This is our deal, too. We've driven when the kids were small, but now we don't have the patience to wait that long. It's usually my DD and I making the trips, so we hop those planes.

We drive down from Chicago for many different reasons. Cost, we stay off-site and need our car to get around, we like to venture out past the parks to the ocean and gulf and we prefer having the opportunity to come and go as WE please

We normally drive from Chicago...neither DD or I are good flyers.

Next week () we are taking the train down for the first time....I'll let everyone know how it goes.

We have flew twice when I had enough airline points to pay for the trip but most of time we drive. It's about a 12 hour drive compared to about 6 hours when you count the time to get to the airport, checkin, flight time and the time from MCO to WDW.

Default I tought about the train...

I worked for Amtrak for 12 years and after 10 years I was eligible for a free service award trip (Well, you have to pay the tax.), but I never did it. It would take over 4 days from Seattle each way. My wife could never get enough time off, so we never did it.

    Driving? From Seattle? NOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Gotta fly.

this is the 1st year we're gonna drive - the last 4 we flew - its about a 12 hour car ride but the last 2 years the airlines have cut short our vacation - in 2007 our flight time changed on the way down and we got there 8 hours after we were supposed to and in 2008 our flight time changed the last day and we ended up leaving 7 hours earlier - we have given up 2 days of vacation to the airlines in the past 2 years and we are done with them - if the drive is absolutely the worst thing we have ever done we may go back to flying - we'll find out in 12 days!!!

We drive, simply because it is cheaper than flying the 4 of us back and forth to NY. Also, we love having our car so we can do anything and go anywhere anytime!
