We are planning a trip to DW Dec 19-22 , how bad are the crowds the weekend before Christmas? We usually stay in a moderate hotel, is anyone decorated better than the others? Does the French Quarter have many decorations?
Thanks in advance.

Disney is truly at it's best at Christmastime, We stayed at French Quarter this past December. The outside of the hotel isn't decorated. But inside their lobby area they have a mardi gras themed Christmas tree and lights. It's not technically a "traditional Christmas tree" But it is still festive non the less.
Now to be completely honest with you, That weekend before Christmas is the almost the most packed time of December aside from Christmas week itself. However, I went from 12/25-12/29 in 2007. Yes it was Extremely crowded but I still was very happy and wouldn't have changed going for anything. I think everyone should go for Christmas at least once in their life. This past year I went back and stayed at French Quarter and was there from 12/16-12/20. from Tuesday-Thursday the crowds were very good. Not bad on the wait times. But by Friday night MK was getting crazy crowded. You couldn't even walk down main street sidewalks it was wall to wall people. And very rude people who would not move out of your way when you asked to be excused. But all in all I still had a great time. It's all about how you take it, There are rude people everywhere. Just go with the mindset and be prepared that it is going to be crowded and you will probably be waiting in lines, and you might run into a not so pleasant guest or two, But as long as you keep a good attitude you'll have a wonderful time. And I bet this won't be your last trip to Disney during Christmas. Disney imo is even more magical at Christmastime. I have been twice during December and am planning my 3rd Christmas trip for this December. Hope you have a wonderful time!!
We have been the week before Christmas the past two years, and loved it! We always left a couple days before the 25th, but the last 2-3 days we are there you can start to see the crowds getting bigger. Before that, it is perfect! We went to WS at epcot one morning as it opened, and it seemed like we had the place to ourselves! Be sure to check out the resort decorastions as well. Disney is really wonderful at Christmas, and I hope you have a great time
