I've had to watch them after the fact. Tuesday I had to get the dog out for a walk and yesterday I was watching Lost. But still I haven't been bowled over by anyone. Joanna Pacitti is good, you may remember that she was the girl who was supposed to be Annie and then she got sick and the producers decided they liked the understudy more and her family sued. She is definitely talented.

I don't know why, but I did not buy that as genuine at all. Kara isn't a very good actress and it just came across as being completely staged.
I actually got the impression Kara was trying to be funny and it fell completely flat and then she felt like an idiot for it. The girl's response was one of surprise and confusion. I was embarrassed for Kara and the girl at that point.

What about the guy drinking from Paul's cup? Oh my goodness. Was that staged? Paula acted sincerely surprised, but that was just weird.

LOL. I kept thinking any minute his voice would crack and return to normal. It just seemed so unnatural.

I felt the same way about her in the beginning also (although I can't say I ever came around). I think because it seemed as if she had some unfair advantage. But I guess when the winner is ultimately chosen by the public, it's not really possible.

OK, tonight's episode is EXTREMELY annoying. I'm done watching for tonight, it's a waste of time.

Honestly, I think the episodes before Hollywood week are just over. They need to quit them next season. They're so pathetically formulaic and predictable ... it's unbelievably old and tired watching these dumb-dumbs prance around making fools of themselves for 34 seconds on television. I've barely even watched so far, although I will admit that some of the people I've seen have been good. I think there's a lot of talent this year.

I'm just glad auditions are over and Hollywood starts next week. I might try to get more into it ...

I think the whole show may have run its course. I feel the same way about Hollywood week and every week after that. America may vote, but the judges made their preferences pretty clear early on for the past two seasons and I think that definitely sways voters. I'm still watching, but I'm getting bored with it.

Ratings are down this year from last year, when ratings were down dramatically from the year before.

Looks like much of America is starting to agree.

Good thing Disney just spent a ton installing an AI attraction at the Studios like 4 years too late.

Maybe when Idol is canceled Disney will just shut the doors like the attraction never happened.

I don't watch idol try outs, it's too embarrassing and although America loved to see these people be berated, I always feel bad for them. I will probably start watching next week ...

I couldnt agree with you more....Granted yes I do watch it....but only because Im doing laundry or vaccuming while its on....Im usually doing something while listening or glancing at it....But either way I cant wait till the real talent comes out....Thats what I enjoy...Seeing how people twists songs to make them their own, or completely slaughter a classic....either way thats when I think it is entertaining...Not all this "Hi Im a wierdo and no I cant sing but just waited for 72 hours to look like an idiot on tv for 30 seconds just because I'll be on tv and can tell all my friends" idioticness.

UGH! Back to what I despise about American Idol.... all the commercials! Tonight it has been really evident. 18 mins in and they are already on their SECOND commercial break. I feel like there have been more commercials than actual show time. Blech.

That quite possibly could've been the worst Hollywood week episode ever. What happened to the instruments? Last year they used instruments first, then sang a capella, and ditched group numbers. Last night was a capella, tonight is group stuff... hopefully next week we'll see instruments?

I didn't even understand the point of last nights show. It went by in a quick blur of "your in, your out"...I hope tonights group night is better.

When we finished last nights episode we felt so ripped off. The show only focused on a handful of people (mainly two who fought the judges sending them home) and had very little substance.

The best part of American Idol is the human factor and watching someone come from know where. Last night had none of that.

    Hopefully tonight is better.

IMO, the judges didn't seem as harsh or berating this season during the auditions, so at least that wasn't a turn-off.

As far as the first Hollywood week episode, I agree that it was choppy and oddly paced. And if that guy Nick does his Norman slapstick routine again on the next episode, I'm going to This is not supposed to be the Comedy Channel!

Last night was a total rip-off. I was so annoyed...That nick norman giggle face idiot is annoying....And the bikini clad girl just gets on my last nerve...And the show was so rushed..I agree with Ian and Maryanne it was just ridiculous and utterly annoying. I am so let down with no instruments so far.

I actually found it irritating that bikini girl and Norman the Wonderdork got put through to the next round.

Both can sing, but it's just so painfully obvious that they're not going anywhere. They're not star material.

I have to agree, while Norman DID make me laugh, he should not have been put through. This isn't "America's Got Talent" where you can have a goofy yet endearing act. It's American Idol!!!!
