    Default Boat at WL Question?

Its been a while, and when I was there we were actually at a cabin at the Wilderness Fort, but I do remember a boat that goes to the Resorts. I know that you can take the Boat to and from MK. But from the WLodge, where does the other boat go??
    GF, Poly? or Contemporary?

Two different launches service Wilderness Lodge. One goes Wilderness Lodge-Contemporary-Fort Wilderness-Wilderness Lodge, and the other goes MK-Wilderness Lodge-Fort Wilderness-MK. The big white ones are the ones back and forth to MK, and the smaller boats are the ones back and forth to the resorts.

We had very good luck with the boat to and from WL.

Max wait time was 10 minutes. As you pull into the dock you get a great view of the lodge, it's so relaxing and beautiful at night, it feels like yo have your own private boat to the Magic Kingdom.

You have the option to sit in the sun or inside and enjoy the shade, or in case of rain.

I felt the same way after heading back to the Lodge from the MK. It almost feels like your own personal taxi and is very relaxing compared to the bus after a long day at the park.

I always like to take the boat from Wilderness Lodge over to the Contemporary and then talk the walkway over to Magic Kingdom. I enjoy walking and usually in the morning the boat to Magic Kingdom can be pretty crowded so was a nice way to get to over to Magic Kingdom.

The other boat takes you to the Contemporary.

When you get to the dock there are 2 platforms,

One goes on the contemporary, WL, FW loop, and the order does vary.

The other boat goes to the Magic Kingdom.

The boat is way faster than the bus to MK.

    Thanks,
I just needed to make sure I was remembering correctly. Now I can plan to go by WL and the boat over to the Contemporary to take the monorail around those Resorts.
    Thanks again!!

Do you recall the time frequency for the big boats?
We will be using 2 ECV's and have to stick to the big ones.

The frequency is 5-8-10 minutes between each boat. It's truly not long.

This was a very good question, one that I was wondering about too because of our upcoming trip in January. We will be staying at the WL for the first time and I am not familiar with anything at this resort as far as transportation and everything. Thanks for the great info everybody!!!!

Having stayed at FW, and now the WL, we really love the boats. The sounds of their horns in the morning or early evening are one of my favorite Disney "sounds". On our last trip we took our 8 year old nephew for his first trip, and he thought the boats were the coolest thing. The boat to the CR is very useful if you plan to visit the MK resorts. We take it, then jump on the monorail to the other resorts. It gives you the best of Disney's transportation in one adventure

We like to do this also! As a side note (and I don't know if it was a seasonal thing or not), they were using the smaller boats much more often to go directly from WL to MK this past July. In the past, we've always shared a boat to the MK with the FtW guests. However, this last time around, there were dedicated smaller boats for the WL guests only to get to MK. The big boats usually shuttled back and forth first thing in the am and later at night, but the rest of the time we were taken back & forth by the smaller boats. Although we never asked, we surmised this was a fuel-saving issue since I'm certain the smaller boats would utilize less fuel.

Can anyone who's stayed at WL recently confirm if they are still using the smaller boats to shuttle guests back and forth to MK?

Last week they were using the big boat from WL to MK and some flat style boat which we had never seen before. The canopied launches were still being used for FW and CR.
