Default NJ Girls 2008 Vacation Day 6

    EPCOT Today

EPCOT is my favorite park and we usually spend two full days there but because we are short on days this will be our only visit.

We arrived at 9:00 and the first thing that we do is get Fast Passes for Soarin. The wait is only 30 mins but we want to get to Test Track so we don't get into the standby line.

We get to Test Track and the wait is only 20 mins so we get in line. We are almost in our car and the rides breaks down. They give everyone fast passes and tell us not to worry about the time on them that they are good for as soon as the ride opens back up.

The boys do Mission Space (10 min wait). After that they are hungry and want to have pizza from one on the carts. They sat on a bench and ate their pizza and when they are done we see that Test Track is opened. We go over to use the fast passes and the girl said we are an hour early. I tell her that the ride broke down and we were told they were good for anytime. I could tell she didn't want to let us on but she did. I'm not sure why they did not inform her of the early fast passes After we were done our ride we got another fast pass for Test Track later in the day.

We went over to Soarin and used our fast passes there. It was the first time my nephew was on this ride. The standby line at 11:30 was now 60 mins. We went over to Imagination and I had the boys do a 3D glass picture. It was $70 for the first one plus I bought my mother one which only cost $35 (same picture).
We did the Imagination ride (my nephews suggestion) (no wait) and the boys didn't like it, again I was told that they are too old for that kind of thing.

After that we were geting hungry so we went over to the Electric Umbrella. We had never eaten here before. The boys got cheese burgers and me and my husband split the veggie wrap. We have been eating a lite breakfast in our room each morning to save time plus we are not big three meals a day eaters so at this point we are trying not to stuff ourselves anymore. For what it was everyone enjoyed their meal.

After lunch we did Spaceship Earth not once but twice! There was no wait at all the the boys loved loved loved the computer screens and the little story. I have to say that I laughed so hard, I really like to change too.

We did Universe of Energy with no wait. I don't care how many times I see that show it still makes me laugh.

We used our Fast Passes for Test Track again. A man sitting with us was trying to tape the ride on the outside track Why??? I can't imagine wanting to try to watch that. We then moved back to the World Showcase. The first stop was Mexico. No wait for this ride at all. My son (10) did NOT like the changes that were made to this ride. He thought it was too cartoonish and should have been showing the culture of Mexico. I had to laugh.

Malestrom was the next stop and the wait was only 15mins. We had 5:00 ADR's at Teppan Edo and it was now 4:50 so we had to skip everything in between and make our way over to Japan. I checked in and just as I was getting our beeper my cousins family arrived. We were seated at 5:10 which was very much apprieciated. The waitress we had was so cute. She was nothing more than a Big Smile. I don't think the smile ever left her face, she was adorable. We have been to a couple of Japanese restaurants in our area and enjoy their food but we have never been to Teppan Edo so I couldn't wait to see how they compared. The cooking show was very entertaining. Everyone loved their food! I got the vegetable crouquette and the veggie platter. It was very very good! I did not get dessert because I wanted to get something at the French Pastry Shop. By the time we left the restaurant it was 7:30.

We did the show at the American Pavilion (no wait). I love that show! Unfortunately we missed the Voices of Liberty this time around.

My cousins family wanted to ride Test Track so they left us and we continued to France to get my dessert. I got the Creme Burlee and my husband got some huge contraption filled with cream. It looked good too.

It was now 8:30 and the boys broke my heart when they told me that they didn't feel like staying for Illuminations. We had to pick up our glass pictures at Mouse Gear so I ate while we walked. We did a little shopping at Mouse Gear and by the time we got to the car we had a perfect view of the fireworks so I guess not all was lost.

Very nice day despite the Test Track breakdown. I have to admit, I have taped that ride and actually do enjoy the footage!

I've taped rides before too and I love looking back at them. I'll especially enjoy it someday in the future when the ride has been replaced with something else and the recording is all I have to remember it by.

That's funny. I think watching something like that on a shakey tape would upset my stomach.

I'm a little slow on the up-take but thanks for the update.

I haven't been to Disney since 1995 and I know so much has changed. I'm REALLY looking forward to Test Track and will be dissapointed if it's broken. And i've heard Soarin is an awesome ride too.
