Default Another question about DME tags

When does Disney send out the luggage tags for DME and are they a different color from the tags I already received with my reservation packet? I'm getting nervous because I'm leaving in two weeks and I've signed up for DME back in late August. DH and I really want to utilize the whole DME experience because we are actually getting on an early flight and we want to hit the parks when we get there. Waiting for our luggage is definitely not part of our plans .

The DME tags are NOT like the luggage tags sent in your reservation package at all. They are yellow and are more like the airport tags that determine where your bags go (even if it is not to your desired destination!! ) [Editorial comments are based on airports losing luggage, NOT DME!!]

The DME tags will have a big green Mickey logo and the resort/resort area designation on them as well as a bar code that is scanned numerous times to make sure your bag gets where it's supposed to go (at least once it arrives in Orlando!)

And, even if you do not receive your DME tags, you can still have them gather your luggage for you. When you go to check in for DME, you'll need to provide them with descriptions of your bags (they'll have something for you to look at to identify what they look like), and your baggage claim checks. They'll pull them from the luggage carousel and send them on their way to your resort.

I would go ahead and give them a call to verify that they have your DME reservation though.

If you don't get the DME tags, just tag your luggage a special way (like a bright pink string tied to each handle). You can inform the DME Check-in desk that you did not get the tags. They will take a description of the luggage and pull it.

Another thing to use is bright orange reflective tape. Just tape a big X on both sides to make it easy to locate.

We leave in 21 days. I was getting nervous because we didn't have our tags yet so I called Disney. WDW travel did not have us down for DME. 3 days after I called the tags were in my mailbox. I would call just to make sure. I wouldn't want to take the chance that DME pick up the right grey luggage with the right pink ribbon. Besides you also need the DME transportation voucher which usually comes with the tags.
