excursions for the Bahamas on your own? i.e. without using Disneycruise.com to book for you?

I really want to cancel my ressies for Atlantis Dolphin Aquaventure (too much $$) and re-book the Dolphin Encounter, but there are not enough spots available. I am afraid to take the chance that more will open and only book for some of us. So I was wondering if anyone ever booked directly through Dolphin Encounters.

What are the chances that more spots will open up so I can book directly through Disneycruise.com this late prior to our vacation?

If I did book on my own, how do we get there?

We leave in just 9 days for the beginning of our vacation, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

My family and I went to the bahamas not on a cruise, but flew in and did all of our own stuff. This was about 3 years ago. We did the dolphin encounter and called in the day before. If you want more information about how to get there and etc, or other things we enjoyed just PM me and I can give you more info.
