I think we got to the port around 11 or 12. We had a minimal wait in the terminal once we got thru security and such. The process was quick and easy.
We boarded the ship but could not get to our cabin until 1 so we headed to get something to eat from the buffet

    Default Time to port?

I also am sailing on Sovereign of the Seas! I leave on Oct. 6th! My flight gets to MCO at 10:40. How long does it take on the shuttle to get to port?

Some creative people (if you read other cruise boards) have perfected the fine art of smuggling stuff on board, but it is not recommended.

    No more SMUGGLING...how rude!

I was counting on it to save a few bucks.

Are you using an RCL shuttle (or "on your own")? The actual travel time (to Port Canaveral) won't be much (maybe one hour?), although you'll need time to pick up your luggage, etc. The SOS probably sails at 5 PM; all-aboard is usually one hour prior. So you have more than enough time; you should arrive at the dock in time to check right in, and your cabin should be available shortly thereafter.

Now what if something goes wrong? Flying in on the day you board can be a gamble. Did you buy trip insurance? If not, you might want to look at www dot insuremytrip dot com to price a policy from several different companies. You are lucky, though, for weather issues; it looks like 10/6 won't have any hurricanes, snowstorms, etc.

    Have a wonderful cruise!
