Default 1,000 Disney Theme Park Tips!!

Well this is post # 1000 for me!! I am so excited because DH went to get the computer last night from the PC doctor and it is working fine again... I have my intercot toolbar back again and all is right with my computer world!!

So for my 1,000 post I wanted to see if we could come up with at least 1,000 tips for Disney World. I am sure we can do this no problem!! I know I have found some great things to do and see here on intercot that I would have never known otherwise and I am sure there is more to learn from each other. Get the whole family involved...you never know, maybe your teen has a tip you didn't remember!!

We can make an INTERCOT.COM tip book when we are done

    Here are my families Tips!

    1. When you enter MK and the Caslte comes in view from Main Street, stop take a few deep breaths and look around absorbing the sounds, sights and smells...it really helps enhance the magic!!

    2. Try a Dole Whip

    3. DD-8 says "Don't forget if you are lost go right to a CM so they can help you be found."

    4. DS 12 - says "if you are staying on property you should definately take advantage of EMH"

    5. DD-5 says "Go on rides with mommies and daddies because it will make you smile more"

    6. Take advantage of the Fastpasses (even if you miss your window of time you can still use them).

    7. Plan ahead before you go even if you do not stick to your plan 100%.

    8. Take a break every now and then, even if it is just sitting on a park bench for 20 minutes.

    9. Take as many pictures as you can. I love looking back at all my photos from past trips.

    10. Take time each day to write about what you did that day.

    25. "Stop to smell the roses" - In other words, sometimes you gotta slow down and take in some of the little things you may have not noticed before. Ex.:Check out the "street corner" signs in UK at Epcot, you might be at the corner of Tudor Lane and Lower Regency Street.

    26. Sometimes it's better to not take a "thousand" pictures of a ride and just sit back and relax and take it all in. It can help create a more lasting memory in your own mind when you look at only the few pictures you HAVE taken.

    27. Go off the beaten path when possible. You may discover something you never knew was there before. Ex.:Most people don't realize or know about the path between Mickey's Toontown Fair and Tomorrowland and generally is not populated with heavy foot traffic.

    28. When taking pictures, try different angles. Sometimes the better picture is the one you take while kneeling and looking upward at your subject rather than straight on.

    29. Also take pictures from locations other than the usual "Picture Spots". I've gotten an excellent picture from Italy looking towards SE. The Italian lampost is in the foreground and SE in the background.
28 times to WDW and still going since 1984!! Most recent visit: November/December 2011...Far too long since my last visit! :'(

Personally, I believe it didn't start with a mouse. It started with a man that had one of the greatest imaginations in this world.

    30. Pick up some pastries from the bakery in Norway at EPCOT to take back for breakfast the next day.

    31. Watch the Flag Ceremony at the end of Main Street...very moving.

    32. Ask to ride up front with the driver on the monorail.

    33. Take time to watch the Electrical Water Parade.

    34. Interact with the "streetmosphere" characters at the parks. They are many places at DHS, but I've also seen them at MK, especially Adventureland. It's fun!

    35. Ride the attractions in Fantasyland first thing in the morning, right when the park opens.

    36. Treat Epcot as two parks, one day for each section.

    37. Get the children "passports" and stop at the kidcot funstops along the way to keep them engaged.

    38. Do not miss the "big kid" rides just because you have a little one that cannot ride, use the baby swap system and ride everything.

    39. Try getting an ADR for late in the evening at a WS eatery (many restaurants take ADRs up until park closing) and stroll along the lake after dinner. It is as if you have the whole park to yourself.

    40. Take advantage of character meals. It really saves time not haveing to wait in line for all of the characters, especially Mickey and friends.

    41. Take a deep breath at the end of each day even if your feet are sore and be thankful you are at Disney.
    42. Visit with the CM's. They have interesting experiences and stories to share. It seems everyone focuses on what CM's can do for you. Give them opportunity for interpersonal communication.

    43. Don't just go from ride to ride; watch the shows and take in the atmosphere.

    44. Much of the merchandise throughout the parks can be found at the World of Disney.

    45. Spend time at Downtown Disney. The Lego Store, the Art of Disney, and the Christmas Store are all great shops.

    46. Play a round of golf. WDW is home to four great golf courses.

    47. The main pool at each resort is well-themed. Many of them even have water slides.
