June 23, 1925 – Disney’s Alice comedy “Alice is Stage Struck” premiered at the Rivoli Theater in N.Y.C.
June 23, 1944 – Disney’s short “Springtime for Pluto” was released.
June 23, 1956 – Disneyland’s “Skyway to Fantasyland” and “Skyway to Tomorrowland” attraction opened. (Closed Nov. 10, 1994)
June 23, 1963 – Disneyland’s attraction “Enchanted Tiki Room”, opened in Adventureland. (the 1st audio-animatronic figures developed by WED Enterprises) opened.
June 23, 1964 – Producer, writer, director, composer, and lyricist Joss Whedon was born in New York. His Disney credits include “The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride” and “Toy Story.” Whedon was probably best known as the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
June 23, 1965 – The Disney film “The Monkey’s Uncle” was released.
June 23, 1967 – Disney’s “The Happiest Millionaire,” starring Fred MacMurray opened in Hollywood.
June 23, 1967 – The Disney film “The Happiest Millionaire” was released.
June 23, 1989 – Disney’s “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids,” starring Rick Moranis, Matt Frewer, and Marcia Strassman, was released.
June 23, 1989 – The “Dreamflight” attraction opened in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom at WDW.
