Grand Gatherings

:What does this entitle you and your group to do @ Disney- any special things you need to plan or reserve before hand? There will be 8 all together in our group and all the kids are boys!
I think they said we could do tours but they are still a cost. Thanks for the help!!

There are several meals that you can make reservations for such as International Dinner and IllumiNations Desert Reception,Safari Celebration Dinner,Good Morning Gathering,
Magical Fireworks Voyage...We tried last year to do the breakfast but could not get a reservation due to it only being held a few times a week...This year I am trying again...

The best thing for us about the Grand Gatherings tag is that we're located as close together as possible, lodging wise. Disney tries to have your rooms close together.

As for the dinners and tours and that kind of thing - we haven't thought the cost worth doing any of them. Some of the choices seem kind of good until I read that we're lumped with other Grand Gatherings - I think this was the case on a fireworks cruise, maybe. Hazy on the details now. With the cost being what it was, and then being on a large, less than intimate boat, it didn't seem like something we just had to do.

Many of the tours have age limits, some 16 but I think there might be one or two with younger age limits.

Our grand gatherings have been relatively small - 8 to 11. If we had 2 or 3 dozen folks along, I could see where some of the offerings might be handy, from a planning point of view. With our size group, we do our own planning.

We have 19 of us going July 12th. We are doing the fireworks Cruise. I was told there is a good possibility we will be the only group on our boat due to our size, but they it was not guaranteed. Either way, we will have a great time!
We are doing 3 dinners together, O'Hana, Chef Mickeys and Liberty Tree. The other nights, we are broken up into smaller groups.
As someone said before, we will have all of our rooms close to each other, so that is a plus for us!

The only thing I've done is the fireworks cruise--and it was terrific!

We had five or six smaller groups on our boat and had a lot of fun!
