    Not that I had heard.

But all of the Robin Hood unit they said was being retired.

The topic came up when I was given a scenario that involved a less popular character with a short line of 6 people. They gave me Friar Tuck and I was like "Oh I love the Robin Hood characters!"

And then I got the bad news after I told them I was excited I finally got to meet Robin a few weekends ago.

when a character is retired, are they replaced by another character so there will be the same number of characters still making appearances?

    Unhappy

Such a shame they are going, they gave the Magic Kingdom that 'vintage' feel.

    Gonna miss you 'Merry Men'.

Not yet, but from what I was told, they are removing the entire unit soon.

Reading this made me sick to my stomach.

To me the Robin Hood gang is Disneyworld. When I was a kid Robin Hood was by far the biggest Disney Flick and its release coincided with the opening of the park.

I love the photos of the older Robin Hood characters in Toon Town Fair. My boys love the film and even dressed like Tuck and Hood for the MNSSHP last year. Sadly we never got to meet Maid Marian. If this is indeed true (and I think Jessica is a very credible source) my letter writing will begin asap.

Hehe, well, I know that's what I had overheard from some Entertainment leaders. Now, whether or not it's true, I don't know. I will say it's a good possibility, but they have been out more recently. Maybe to give people time before taking them away?

I hope not though...I love Robin!

And thank you for thinking I am a credible source...I wouldn't say that about myself, just I know a lot of CM's who work it.

I hope Robin waits until after next week! I have been dying to meet him!! I have a picture with him from a trip when I was a child and have been searching for him since 91!

Hey Jessica, chain him up on the other dock and hold him there til Sunday, okay?

Any new word on this? I am very concerned. It really bugs me that the Robin Hood gets lost in the shuffle. In fact the only thing Robin Hood I saw at all at DL was the appearence of Prince John at DCA.
I was hoping with the release of the new dvd it would get some traction but no, nothing. Robin Hood grossed more money than any of the 70's Disney flicks. I admit maybe it has not held up well over time, but why does Disney ignore its popularity?

Funnily enough, we saw Friar Tuck and Prince John - though not Robin Hood - at Disneyland Paris just this summer.
    first trip - January '05, All-Star Movies
heading for Pop Century in Sept/Oct '09!
