Default Cleaner/Nicer rooms Riverside or French Quarter at P.Orleans?

I heard one if not both of these resorts had a room facelift in 2005/06? Does anyone have any opinions on which one is preferrable? I've stayed at POR.

it was the FQ that was redone. it all boils down to which theme you like best. FQ is French Country or a New Orleans theme and RS is more rustic. FQ is much smaller and quieter. it has a great food court. Less walking to bus stop. they are both nice it just depends on the theme you like.

    Default new orleans was great

Hey stayed at N.O. it was pretty nice. At first they put us in the back so I asked for closer and got right by the pool. Clean and nice, my 11 year old son ran around by himself alot back and for from the pool food court very safe.

We love FQ, but only because of its intimate size. We have stayed at both and enjoyed both.
Officially too many trips to list here!

Both Riverside and French Quarter were updated in 2004/05.

Yes, both were updated. FQ actually closed down and all the rooms were done at once. I think this included fixtures and everything.
POR was done in sections and wasn't quite as thorough, but still very nice. I wish I had before and after pictures of the AB rooms to show you! Anyway, I think you would be very happy either way.

We stayed at POFQ this past Oct & absolutely loved it. The grounds were beautiful & you were close to everything even if you were at the farthest room. The rooms were very clean & well maintained. Will definitely stay there again in the future!

The size of FQPO is what drew us. And of course the dragon slide at the pool when my kids were smaller. It is a lovely resort and everything is within easy walking distance, a real plus when you come home exhausted from walking in the parks all day.

I've not stayed at POR but we made some observations on our trip (2007) to POFQ. POFQ is much smaller, more intimate, and is first on buses. Some buses will stop at POR after POFQ, but not always. If you are at POFQ you have a much better chance of getting a seat and also are let off first on the return trip. That is a pretty big deal if you have little ones or need a seat.

I think both pools are nice - and you can pool hop between, so that probably isn't a selling point. POR has a much better food court IMO. It has alot of different options for salads and pastas, sandwiches etc that they make to order.

For us, staying at POFQ and walking down the BEAUTIFUL Sassagoula river (about 10 minutes) to Riverside when we wanted to use the food court is a great option. FQ has a food court but it isn't nearly as big (although what we had there was fine...).

I'm partial to POR AB section. I like the rustic charm.
