Default Should I go March 2009

Here is my dilema. I am a bona fide Disney junkie. The only reason my daughters are not each named Walt is I couldn't get to the birth certificates without my mother in law breaking my arm.

Anyway, I am itching to go to Disney again though we just went in December. My target is March 2009, we have gone in October 04, October 05 and December 07.

What are the benefits or detractions of going in March?

    Thanks!

Well, March is considered part of Spring Break, so there is a potential for moderately heavy crowds, but the crowd levels vary based on how many schools are out on a particular week, so you could get a lighter week - it's rather difficult to predict.

I also think that March tends to be rather unpredictable as far as the weather goes. Today we have highs in the 80's, while a week ago it was down in the high 30's. I would imagine that the earlier in March that you could go, the less the crowds would be.

I can tell you from going this year that the weather can vary widely. It can be over 80, but it can dip into the low 40's, especially at night..especially early in March.

Another thing to check out is when Easter falls in 2009. Crowds are very heavy down there right now because Easter is on the 23rd. Assume at least one week before and after Easter will be very busy.

I like March because the weather can be very nice. It could also be chilly, but it usually isn't too awful, especially if you are used to a more Northern climate. I'd be careful not to go during Easter week, because it does get mobbed, but any other week in March isn't usually too bad. Schools across the country vary thier spring break, so it isn't like Christmas or Thanksgiving. Another perk to going in March is that if you go towards the end of the month you can catch the Flower and Garden festival at Epcot which is really nice. Epcot is usally so beautiful, but they really enhance the landscaping for F&G. If you can swing it both financially and with time off from work and everything, I'd definately give March a shot.

time off is never a problem. I'm a government bean counter with more annual leave than I can possibly use. We went this past December and crowds are always small at that time of year, I would just hate to go and have a mob. Guess I'll just see what comes. Thanks for the advice.
