    Default Which would you prefer?

My family and I don't know what hotel to stay at. We are going in the second week in September and have a toss up between Coronado Springs and the Caribbean Beach Resort. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We've stayed at and really enjoyed both. It probably depends on what you're looking for.

    Pros for CSR -
we found CSR to be very quiet and relaxing.
The Pepper Market food options and quality was much better than that at Old Port Royale.
The main pool area was fantastic.
    Busses are never overcrowded.

    Pros for CBR -
the atmosphere. There's just something about the "island" theming that really makes you feel like you are on vacation.
Depending on the timing, the new pool might be open during your visit. From everything I've read, it sounds like it will be terrific.
CBR "felt" like it was a lot closer to everything except AKL.

Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.

We've stayed at both and enjoyed our stay at both, and you really can't go wrong with either. I think I am more partial to CBR because I prefer the island theming. The food court at CSR is better. If you plan on eating at the resort a lot that could factor in.

I have only stayed at CBR and I loved it. The island theming is great. You can't help but feel relaxed as you walk around. It is a beautiful resort.

I've never stayed at either, however my sister stayed at CS once and didn't care much for it...she said it was too big and the walks to the pools, busses and food was pretty bad, especially if you get a bldg that's "way" out.....just a little more to think about....

CBR's main pool has been closed since January and is currently scheduled to reopen on September 15, 2008.

On that and that alone, if I were going the 2nd week of September I'd go to CSR to skip CBR's pool construction.

We love the CBR. The grounds are so pretty
and the theme of islands is great. The food
court is good. We have never stayed at CSR
but I am sure that it is nice as well.
    Have fun!

    Default Both are good

My family stayed at both on separate occasions last year. We liked the theme at both hotels, however, the main restaurant at CS cost much more than the main restaurant at the other hotels. There wasn't much room in that restaurant either. They had some construction going on beside the restaurant at the time, so maybe they changed it. I believe I read something about the restaurant being privately owned. I'm not sure. CBR was neat, but don't stay in Trinidad. It's too far away from everything. If you can get a preferred room, it's worth the extra to be closer to everything. Both hotels had great pools, but we had to get out of CS' because of some "emergency maintenance."

    Just to clarify ...

    CBR has two "Trinidads."

mdhiggin is referring to Trinidad South, which is the farthest of the 6 villages from Old Port Royale, the complex that has the main pool, food court, shops, etc. But there is also Trinidad North. All 3 buildings in Trinidad North are "preferred location" buildings, meaning they are 3 of the closest buildings to OPR in the entire resort.

CS - I love it! One of the best Disney resorts. One of my favorites - everything about it is great!

CB - One of the worst Disney resorts. I'd stay off property at a La Quinta before staying at this resort again. Rude staff, extremely long bus times (sometimes an hour) and terrible housekeeping (the rehung towels used at the pool that were on the floor).

Based on all of the research I just did before booking our July trip, I would have to say CSR. Also, I believe that the main pool at CBR is closed until mid September. Good luck!!

It stinks that you had such a terrible experience there, but it surely was not typical. It's not like CBR is usually like that.

I've stayed there twice and had friendly CMs, short bus waits, great Mousekeeping complete with towel animals. And CBR has pool towels, there's no need to use room towels at the pool.

CS food court.."not so much".. Just my opinion..didn't care for it. Its part food court/part waitstaff. Found it annoying. Do you tip?..and who wants to tip in a food court? As mentioned it was expensive for what was offered.

Like the CBR MUCH better, ..like the theme of the resort. If you are going to be there when the new pool is open..definelty choose it..if it's closed, why then I wouldn't go. Choose Trinidad North or Martinque...they are closer in proximity to Old Port Royale..the food court and themed pool area. You will also be able to see some of the eveneing fireworks/lazer show in the sky from Epcots Illuminations at the CBR.

I would vote for Coronado Springs.
(although - I have not stayed there....)

I have stayed at Caribbean Beach though and while it is pretty, the resort itself is not set up very well. (and I don't know if you have strollers or heavy luggage - but there are no elevators) If you decide to stay there - I would recommend getting a preferred room so that you can walk to the food court area.

The resort itself is nice - like I said, very pretty - lovely landscaping and cute beaches etc.

    Wink Cbr!!

Our family has stayed here and LOVED it! CS just doesn't do anything for me at all. The island feel at CBR is amazing. CM's were always friendly and helpful, always washing down hallways and keeping everything beautiful like all the resorts buses were always 10min or less, food court had a good selection we thought. We've stayed in Jamacia(short walk through the "island" to OPR and also stayed in Martinique, this was even closer! Even though the main pool was always open when we were there, we found ourselves at the smaller more quiet pools by or building. I would not hesitate sto stay here again. I guess the only way I'd stay at CSR is if we got an upgrade from a booked value resort and it saved us some $$$. Otherwise it's a no go for me.
