Beach info.(You're scaring me)

Ok. I am in the process of planning our first trip to FL/Disney. I am also trying to look at flight info and condos. Very overwhelming(we've never flown)! Trying to get what we want at the cheapest prices possible.
Here is why I'm scared. My husband is just not a Disney type guy. We all decided that we wanted to do 2 days at Disney(stay with my aunt who lives in Celebration) then head to Cocoa Beach. We pickedthis beach because my grandmother lives in Melbourne and we want to visit with her & we plan on visiting NASA. After what I read about Cocoa Beach on here I am not sure this is the place for us. Has anyone been to Sattelite Beach(just south of Cocoa)? Can't go to far from Melbourne....but don't want to wast our money on a bad beach. We all love the beach so if you have any insight please help. Thanks

Have you looked at hotel/condos for Melbourne Beach? I know one place - Sandy Shoes or something like that was popular.

What have you read? We spent a week in a condo at Cocoa Beach some years back and almost always include a day excursion there when we go to WDW.
