Oh well, makes it that much more fun I guess.
Except for the very last line, I would say ditto. We normally ride Splash Mountain at least a half a dozen times during a one-week visit. This summer, we got so wet that we never did find the right time to go on it again (mainly due to ADR's during free dining). It was really a disappointment, but nobody really wanted to hightail it over to Le Cellier or the Concourse Steakhouse while being drenched to the bone. And yes, it was the water cannon that got us on our way up the first hill, as well as increased sloshing all around.

The water cannon before the first hill is what always gets us. I'm just not a big fan of that thing.

Wonder if the Jan/Feb refurb will take steps to lighten the dousing? I expect to get a little wet, as I always have in the past, but being drenched is more for rides like Kali...which is why I avoid that one. I'd hate to have to skip SM

Here's the truth.. The reason you think you are getting wetter on Splash is because you are the cannons were broken for at least 5 years so people forgot that they got that wet on Splash Mountain.

As for every third boat that has to do with the cannon that goes out onto the bridge of people waiting. Every boat going down the big hill will send a splash over to the people going up the hill.

I've decided that I don't care how wet we get this summer when we go. We'll just be sure to hit it early enough in the afternoon to allow time to dry off before heading out to any dinner reservations that evening.

The last time I went on splash mountain was 5 yrs ago and my cousin and I got totally drenched.

However we were up next to get in the logs and and the ride attendant asked if we'd wait for the the following log because they wanted to put some away for the night and we said yeah. So when it was our turn after we got seated and were ready to go the guy was like for being so patient we'll add an extra splash at the end. We looked at each other like yeah right we've ridden the ride over 100 times and never got drenched. We'll needless to say when we went down the big drop we got this huge tidal wave of water. So after that ride we were convinced that they can control the splash level and get you as wet as they want.

I think it is definitely getting wetter. I don't mind it on a hot summer day, but otherwise, too wet!

I was there for MVMCP in Dec..splash was one of the last 3 rides we got on around 11:45pm, i was seated in the last row on the right side..i got totally drenched!!! I have rode that ride lots of times, and maybe got sprinkled!! But, my daughter and I were drenched to the bone!!!
I know its a water ride, but late at night, and temps cooling down, poor kid(she's 4) was frozen, we dried off a bit on thunder railroad!!!
    But, that water was freeeeezing!!!

We rode 3 times last trip, same postions in the log--front seat me in middle of two kids.

    1st time--SOAKED!!!!!!! It was a tidal wave!

    2nd time-- DRY!

3rd time-- one side body wet, one side dry!

    I can't predict it!

Next time it will probably be our last ride of day. We do that with Kali too. I hate walking around wet!

I've been on this ride several times and have never soaked.....unless you want to count the time that it was pooring down rain and we didn't have ponchos on the ride.
