Default Candlelight Procession & Garden Grill

We have reservations for the Garden Grill for 3:30pm. Even though the menu is the same for lunch and dinner...we are being charged the dinner price 'cause we purchase with the Candlelight Procession Package...I spoke to a CM last night in dining...and the explanation is that is the policy for the 6:45pm performance...so I will be sitting next to a whole lot of tables paying $20 and I'm paying $27 so I have a reserved seat at the show...If it wasn't the same menu I wouldn't mind, but this doesn't seem quite right...any comments? I'm not changing but this just seems pretty bad for disney.

Can anyone explain what is the difference in food between lunch and dinner at the GG?

We have the same issue on the 15th of December. Next year, I will probably get the later show so that I can have "dinner" at the dinner time hour. Eating at 3:30 means that we will probably need snacks later as we plan on staying for the Special Illuminations. WOW, I guess that means I will spend more money!! Maybe that is the reasoning for WDW's policy???
