We had an early flight out of Denver so we had traveled from Fort Collins the night before. Never know what the weather might do!! We left our hotel and headed to DIA at 6am. This was our first time flying Southwest. Curbside check-in went great. Before we knew it we were through security and at our gate. After an uneventful flight (thank goodness I hate to fly) we arrived in Orlando around 2:30pm. The car picked us up and off to our resort we went. Check-in was quick and painless. This was our first time staying at Port Orleans. I must say it is a large resort. Our building was way in the back. So after a 10 minute walk we were there. We kinda just dropped the luggage, quickly checked out the room and then we were off. Since we left Denver so early we were pretty hungry. Our plan was to head over to Beaches and Cream for an early dinner. We took the bus to EPCOT and did a quick trip through World Showcase (stopping for a few samplings of wine) then a quick boat trip and we were there. Surprisingly they were very busy already and it was only a little after 4pm. We were seated at the counter, which was not a problem. Our waitress was not very friendly and the service was not great. It took a long time to get our drinks. They actually arrived after our food. After a long period of time waiting to order our desert (the part we went there for) we finally gave up and just asked for the check. My DD was ready to hit the parks. So I was a little disappointed with this dining choice. Let's hope the rest will be better.
After dinner it was off to MGM. We had to check out all the pins before we could do anything. My DH is really into collecting pins. We did manage to get in a few rides before the park closed. We did the Great American Movie Ride, Muppets 3-D then DH and DD did several trips on Star Tours. We then headed over to Magic Kingdom to see Wishes. We made it there with minutes to spare. We watched from the end of Main Street closest to the castle. Along the way I found a few Photo Pass opportunities. Wishes was a wonderful way to end our first day. On the way out our DD got a migraine. Of course when we got to the bus stop the line was awful. After about 15 minutes we got to the front only to have DD get sick. We went off to the side until she felt better - luck was with us the cast member helping at the bus stop got us right on the next bus. So it was back to the resort and bed for DD. DH and I had a relaxing out front before turning in for the night.

Sorry to hear your dd got sick, but you it sure sounds like you crammed a lot in on your first day.
What a shame that you missed dessert at Beaches and Cream. That is the main reason we have ever been there.

Wow-- you got a LOT done in a short amount of time. Great day. Sorry about your DD, though. Migraines are horrible things. I hope she perked back up quickly!
